    Reaction: 44
    Arm: 49
    Fielding: 54

They signed Gerardo Parra at left field primarily because he's a better defender. I take a look at their roster and see they have capable backup outfielders, but they don't have a quality first baseman. Now I take Rodriguez without adjusting any attributes and make his primary position 1B, and low and behold his overall rating jumps to 86!

This is why being able to teach a player a new position and position changes needs to added to the game for the AI. Yes, I can do this on my own, and I do once a team completely fills its roster and I can see what is what, but I would rather not have to do this and have the CPU best utilize its own roster.

They took a big step forward last year with roster building, as the CPU is better at putting a roster together, but adding position changes/teaching positions should be/is hopefully the next step.
Not all players can transition that easily from outfield to infield or vice versa. An old game High Heat had a feature where if you played a player at a new position for 3 full seasons he became functional at a new position without the out of position penalty.

That's the way it should be done. You have to play him at the new position and suffer the consequences of poor defense for a while.

That’s why I mentioned teaching positions as a feature I’d like to have.

For now i don’t worry about it. If a players overall increases because of the move and it benefits the team I make the change to help maximize the roster.

I like this idea. I mean that's basically what teams do in real life where a guys only tool is his bat. Either stick him in left field or have him play 1st

This and learning new pitches (along with related improvements to progression/regression) would be pretty huge to get. I'd say this is second only to having a full-on expansion mode for me.

I’ve been waiting for the ability to not only learn new pitches but work on existing pitches for awhile now

This would go along with improving how managers and coaches impact the roster

Sorry WTNY, this is ahead of full on expansion for me

Teaching positions would be huge, especially with SDS emphasis on players playing out of position defensively this year. Not sure if you play any soccer games but PES has this feature and it works really well and adds a lot of flexibility to lineup decisions.

Cost and convenience. It would dramatically increase the cost when you consider a massive amount of extra recording, which requires not just the voice actors, but staff, too. Plus, for that much, you need to pay a staff of writers to create a ton more material.

I think storage is not the issue it used to be, but audio clips take up a massive amount space.

I like how Madden has started holding weekly recording sessions to add to commentary throughout the season. But Madden dwarfs MLBTS in sales.

No injuries in MTO is killing the immersion and I don’t understand this design decision. For the best teams, RedSox,Yankees,Dodgers, part of the challenge is to keep key players healthy. If they lost one on injury, they usually have deep enough roster to cover that lost or they’ll try to trade for a good replacement. This is part of a baseball season and a key factor for a march to October.

Think it was possible to include injuries in a few scenarios. You lost your key Pitcher for 2 starts, let’s play 1 game or 2 with the #6 starter and try to achieve two quality starts.

Or, Mookie Betts can’t play in a decisive game 3 against Yankees, play this game with his replacement. That kind of things.

I could undertstand to limit season ending injuries or 3+ months ones but I think they missed the boat to create some interesting and challaging gaming scenarios.

What they need to do for MLBTS 20 is have the option to play with injuries but if you do that...it disables the rewards.

The rewards are the reason for default, out of the box rosters and no injuries. There has to be a level playing field in that regard.

I am not going to let the lack of injuries deter me from playing the mode. It is the first cycle with it.....and it looks like a lot of fun.

I am sure the mode can evolve in future iterations if it is well received.

Agreed. They could have satisfied every player by issuing rewards through their current structure and also giving the option for injuries/custom rosters and receiving no rewards.

As someone that likes franchise, it would’ve been a really cool way to play Year 1 of a franchise and then just transition into Year 2 with the custom rosters. Most people that play Franchise don’t care about the rewards anyhow.

I’ll give it a look because I also play DD. But after a month or two when the rosters are in dire need of an update, it will be mostly unplayable for most people that need a certain level of realism.

                                Just saw the twitch stream...

The show is showing its age. Heidi looks like she's from the Ps3. Which made me look at all the players... uniforms, hands are stiff. Once I noticed it, i couldn't stop noticing the lack of graphic improvement over the years.

I've been buying sine 2010 and I feel like it's basically a roster update with some minor changes.

                                I'll pass.
