Stubbs Redeemable For Real Baseball Cards

I am wondering if this has been considered at any point. I play all of my game in Franchise mode, so Stubbs are pretty much worth to me.

It would awesome if Topps and EA could pull a partnership that allowed you to redeems Stubbs for actual Topps Baseball packs. Same packs you find at the store, just available for purchase/redeem through TheShow.

I know the most Topps does with The Show is give out codes for free 20 pack box in game if you get Series 2 & Update. There's at least two-three codes inside a hobby & jumbo hobby boxes.


Would be cool if you could get stubs too.

I believe the Texas Rangers attempted to trade Drew Stubbs to the Miami Marlins for a few real baseball cards. The Marlins declined the trade, saying they would have lost on the deal.

On a serious note, do stubs earned in franchise mode give you much actual in-game value? I don't touch them at all.

Getting real life items for your virtual currency wouldn't be cost effective. That costs money to produce.

You can use them to buy card packs which then unlock goodies for RTTS/DD

As it relates to Franchise mode? Not really. I think the most you can use them for in Franchise mode is buying different sponsorships.

I believe you could use Stubbs to help with budgets at the end of the year. Not sure though.

As one off promotional items I think it would make sense to get kids into baseball card collecting.
