Why no AI vs AI gameplay released this year ?

? You mean CPU v. CPU? Just put the controllers in the middle during the screen where you choose the teams.

I'm pretty sure he's asking for gameplay videos of CPU vs. CPU for 19 prior to release. Not asking how to do it.

It might have been last year or the year before, but I think I remember during some downtime of the dev tourney day (because they stream most of the day for that and need to take breaks) that they put the game on CPU vs. CPU. Might be your best hope for this.

Wouldn't make much sense to showcase it on a stream.

LOL ok ok i meant CPU vs CPU gameplay footage. We used to see almost full games or at least long footage where we were able to appreciate animations, presentation and full sounds without people comments and I haven't seen any this year.

Maybe those are usually released after game launch and I'm just having a really bad day

Thanks anyway guys for trying to figure out what I really meant to say

Certainly strange we are this close to release and no true gameplay footage has been shown, other than within the controlled environment of the streams. Thursdays developer tourney will probably be as close as we get in true gameplay.

They have been focused so much on DD that even in their first stream, where they showed off bunts and defense, was done in DD. Some of the fielding stuff was done with real teams, but it was all canned to show off changes.

They also used real teams for March to October, but again very limited gameplay. This offseason has been rough for SDS.

With all that being said, I feel that if the game is similar to last year with some small improvements to offline gameplay...its still a buy for me, because I am a baseball junkie. They know there are plenty of us out there, and thats kinda the problem.

I don't ever remember them releasing CPU vs CPU footage prior to release, either as a video or a stream.

I also feel like the twitch streams have gotten worse every year. I watched all of them and felt a little confused at the end of all of them. Really don’t like the twitch streams and the dev. Tourney is BR again?
Can we just see a playoff mode tournament with real teams, and maybe not with everyone using that pushed in catcher/strike sone cam so you can’t even see the batter?

They used to show more gameplay with IGN and a couple other places and we got basically 2 videos this year, both of which showing MTO. Just disappointing.
People will complain about just about anything.

How many games show extensive gameplay before release? I get that in past years there has been some more gameplay on the streams. But geez man, it’s a little much to go on and on about it. Regardless of the changes or upgrades are up your alley, SSD hosts 5 or 6 streams before launch. They do that as a service to the consumers, and hardly any games do as much pre-launch stuff as they do.

Maybe it’s just that time to stop checking in on the forums as much as I have been. It could be just getting to me at this point. I just wish people would be less quick to criticize every little detail. Some things are certainly fair but some of these critiques are madness.

I too love to watch AI games. It's the only way I can tell what the offense and defense will do in the game without human interference. But we should get "TONS" of human vs human gameplay this Thursday. I say tons because the it is the devs favorite word before each launch. Even though "tons" really means a few more than last year's game.

I don't think there is a need for CPU vs CPU footage or even gameplay footage. Companies don't do that and SDS gives us more than a lot of games. 2k releases next to none and it is not an issue. I would say if you have concerns about seeing that footage, wait until release and YouTube will have it.

Also no need to knock their marketing. The previous iterations should be the marketing we need. If this was year 1 of their game release or year 1 on a new system, maybe it's different, but no need for this.
