Re: What are you doing first?

Probably open some preorder packs, and then start building my initial DD team, the St. Louis Hawks. Might do a Play Now game.

Will wait to start a MtO for a few days, after I've played a bit of the game.

As I always do, start a franchise . Skip spring training and get to experience the little changes on opening day. I usually use a different team each year for Franchise. I’m leaning towards the Tampa bay Rays for mlb 19. All I do is franchise, all 162 games

Re: What are you doing first?

Even though I’m pretty sure I’ll be carrying over a franchise this year so it won’t really matter much for me, first thing I’ll do is check out the rosters and scroll through looking at player ratings like I do every year. Then I’ll probably play an exhibition game as the Yankees using Paxton.

Opening all 30 packs that I will have to open thanks to purchasing the digital deluxe edition. then going into the market and selling every cardi can for as many stubs as I can to get as much franchise funds as I can for one of my franchises... probably my new one I will start, not my carry over

Ah yes I forgot about my pre order bonuses. I’ll for sure dive into them quickly. I’m really hoping for a little luck, I haven’t gotten any high golds or even diamonds in any pre order packs before

Re: What are you doing first?

Start a new franchise and sim ahead about a decade to see how how generated prospects look, how free agency works, and how progression plays out.

18 was my first baseball game in years, and I wasted a lot of time by not understanding how the franchise engine worked. I want to see how 19 differs now that real contracts and extensions are in the game and whether anything else has been tweaked in a meaningful way that I’ll want to know before I dive in for real.

Start every year the same way, fire up a practice game with Yankees VS random opponent to see how game plays and what changed.

Planning on starting a Phillies franchise with Cujo’s roster.

Can’t wait to play this year after suffering through last year’s team.

That’s a great idea. I couldn’t care less about DD and it annoys me that you need to use stubs to increase your franchise budget.

Franchise budgets should mirror real life with the option to increase them via stubs.

Carryover my franchise, check out who disappeared and decide if I should attempt to recreate them or just roll with the fictional replacements. After that continue to play spring training games while getting my dynamic sliders set.

Currently working on a spreadsheet of when all the Blue Jays players play so I can match 1:1 in spring training as close as possible, wish the spring training roster was like 70 so I wouldn't have to call up and down players numerous times. Get game Tuesday, practice until someone releases a close enough Blue Jays spring training roster. Then start spring training and tweak sliders as I go along until proper opening day roster is released then finally start franchise [emoji16]

After that depending on how tired I am I may open any pre-order packs and see how my initial DD team looks.

After that??? I am torn. Options are start on the first program, grab all the Cardinal cards I can and work on team affinity while playing conquest. Or maybe even starting March to October right away.

Who knows when I will even find time for RTTS.
Normally I start the exact same way with the same teams (only at Wrigley). But this time I'm likely to dive straight into MTO on legend and see where it takes me (plus I'll definitely run into the Cards sooner or later in that mode). I'll use my time in that mode to figure out where I'm at difficulty-wise and might drop to HOF if it proves to be too much - along with the increased pitch speed, legend analog fielding is difficult to do well in consistently at times. Legend was a perfect fit for me last year, but there's a few significant differences in this year's gameplay.

No matter what happens I plan to play it out, and use that as a launching pad into my franchise.

I will have a 90 man jays roster ready for release day. It will contain all my blue jays CAPS from last year and I’ve already made CAPS for Adam Kloffenstein, Griffin Conine, Jordan Groshans and a few others missing from last year. You can see the Jays I made last year here https://forums.operationsports.com/f...ys-so-far.html Here’s a sneak peek at Adam Kloffenstein.
