    Franchise Player Edits

For all those Hardcore Franchise players out there who stay true to the game and don’t cheat, How would you edit a players attributes based on award winning and how they do throughout the season. I want to get everyone’s feedback

I always try to just make it so their ratings make sense to me, and leave it at that. A lot of times a guy will be overrated here, underrated there, etc., just tweak him so that his ratings fit with your general understanding of him as a player. You can’t really go wrong with that approach.

    Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.

I always do full spring training while waiting for a decent roster set to be released before I begin my franchise prolly mid May or so. Now before I start my Franchise I'd manually edit any player who's having a standout start of the real baseball season and that goes for players who's flopping. I simply look on MLB.com and see who's having a great season so far and edit as I see fit.

Once I start a franchise it is mine. So I don't adjust anything through the year usually. However, I do try from the draft to edit the players picked for future use. If the game doesn't progress them in the direction they take in real life (for example, the guy becomes more of a power hitter but the game ratings are low there), I boost the numbers a bit so with continued progression he may come into the form he has in real life. In my game after two seasons Victor Martinez tanked. That's how he was until he retired last season.

I edit the players who've gotten big attribute increases/decreases according to The Show's live roster updates. I just check them on their site every week or so and edit the players with 5 to 10 +/- points to their OVR. This year I'll just do the players that are having big years vise versa.

I do a lot of OVR boosts at the all star break. If a low overall player makes the all star game, I move him up a little. If a guy with not that much power makes the home run derby, I move his power up. If a low potential minor league player makes the AAA/AA all star game, I move up his potential. I move guys that were bad down after the season to balance it out. Im around 9 years into a Franchise and this has worked out pretty well.
