I'm also late at the party but I have been playing this game for a month and it's one of the best sports games I've ever played! March to october is just fantastic if you don't want to play the entire season and off course the gameplay is amazing!

1600+ CREATED PLAYER ROSTER & FRANCHISE MODE SERIES

I am starting a YouTube series for a roster/franchise on MLB The Show that I have been working on since 2016. The roster consists of over 1600 created fictional players from MLB to minor leagues. I originally created the roster back in 2016, and published it on PS3 around Sep. 2016. The only way I could bring the roster over to PS4 was through franchise mode. And since porting it over to current gen I have been updating and creating more players, maintaining rosters, and playing through the franchise as the GM of all 30 teams.

I have decided that after 3 1/2 years of grinding with this roster that I would start a series and try to gain some support from The Show community, especially the players on here who are really interested in these types of rosters.

I currently have two videos up right now (Part 1 and Part 2) that showcase the American League and National League Rosters. It would be greatly appreciated if ya'll would check them out. I hope to post more content in the future of the league including in-season gameplay, trades, prospects, player back stories.

Love to hear some feedback on the roster! Thank you

funny thing is because the whole WWE2K20 thing happened i ended up getting the MLB the Show games i didn't have which were 18 and 19. so now i have 16-19. (i usually just wait for price drops as i'm not too into the current seasons of mlb like i used to be) so i figured i'd continue my RTTS in 16 and just keep going after 1 season until i get to 19 lol

Re: MLB The Show 19 - Little Things Thread

Some things I just noticed while playing in Sportsman's Park. I lived in St Louis for 40 years and am very familiar with that area.

The Stadium is bounded by Grand Avenue, Dodier, Spring and Sullivan. Across Grand in center field is the old YMCA building. On the side of that building is a cool ornate sign which in vertical letters reads "the show".

At the intersection of Sullivan and Spring which is in the area of the left field foul pole was the first ever sports bar. Cardinal players in the early days used to stop there to get chew and other items because they were cheaper there than in the clubhouse. If you replay a high fly ball and put the cursor on the ball you can see outside the stadium that building on the corner. By the way, it's still a bar to this day although different circumstances. I'll bet not many players who played the Show noticed that.

You can see from the stadium a few blocks away a church steeple. That's the old St Augustine Church at the corner of Lismore and Hebert. It still stands but is dilapidated like most of that neighborhood which dates to the late 1800's.

Cool little things and credit to the developers to spending the time to replicate some history for that great old ballpark.

As much as I have played this game, I’ve never seen this play happen. Playing my Randy Johnson RTTS, and the hitter smokes a line drive to the left of the third baseman. The ball pops off his glove high into the air, allowing for the shortstop to race over and catch it.

I was impressed to say the least, coming from a game where the first baseman refuses to cover first base on hard liners to RF lol

Just love that I am in game 117 of my DBacks season playing at the Dodgers and the place is only 1/3 full to begin the game but fills in by the fourth inning. Then empties out after the seventh. So real.

I've played a ZILLION games... And just the other night in a couple separate games I saw two animations I had yet to see:

                      1) The pitch was foul tipped by the batter, went off the catcher's glove and nailed the ump in the arm. The umpire then had to stop play and he bent down in obvious pain. the catcher then went to him to see how he was.

                      2) I hit a pop fly to 1B side. The 1B had to stand on the fair/foul line to make the catch of the towering pop-up. My runner bumped into (as the 1B stepped into his path at the last second), causing my runner to stumble a bit, and almost fall down on his way to first.

Had to admit, it's little things like this that deserve credit... Well done.

I've seen 1 more than a few times, probably because I've played a quite a bit of games with the Foul Frequency set to 10. never have noticed 2, something to look forward to lol

Too bad this one is fair. He slaps the ball in fair territory, and playing in Oakland, the ball rolls far enough away for the runner to advance to second base...

                          Had never seen this one..

If it's foul, it's foul. If it's fair, it's fair. Once you first touch it, it will be what it is based on where it is. And you damn better be ready to make a play if it ends up being fair, so swiping it is not only a delayed tactic but a bad idea.

Sorry to see this happened to you, haha.

It's the dumbest decision on the field I've ever seen that has a phantom justification behind it.

Does The Show still have this animation? I mean I guess if people do it in real life, right?

To be fair, I get why Walker had to work quickly and hit the ball in the direction he was going, but not in the way of "knock it to next week." Plus, The Show does it in a way where you see a third baseman running parallel with the line to do the same thing, which is when it really gets weird.
