    Franchise Carryover Schedule Question

    Hello,

With The Show 19 coming out tonight, I've been googling for some info on the carryover feature. I started a Franchise last year on 18 and looking to continue in 19.There are two main issues I have.

    A) I'm trying to play all 162 games. I've fallen short by 22 games but fully intend to finish soon. It looks like from what I've found that I don't actually have to finish the first season before I carryover, but I want to make sure of that.

    B) I want to take advantage of the ability to get the real 2019 schedule once I get there. From what I've found, there is a point in the offseason that you need to carryover by in order for that to happen. What I'm not sure on is exactly where that is. And if I carryover with a month or so left in 2018 and finish that season, then go to 2019, will I get the real schedule? Or do I need to wait to carryover at some specific point after the 2018 season to get it?

    Thanks!

You can pick up right where you left off.

I could be wrong but I believe the schedule will stay on the 2018 cycle.

From how it has worked in the past I believe that if you carry over during the off season before you go into spring training the schedule comes up with the current game's real-life schedule. Countryboy would know for sure.

Yes don't advance to new season/spring training from the offseason screen. Stop there and then save over to '19 and when you advance to the new season/spring training, you'll have the 2019 real life schedule.

As for transferring over now, I keep thinking that you have to complete a full season in '18 before it will correctly upload/carryover to '19 but I'm not 100% sure. I've always completed at least a season before transferring over my save file.

This is my experience too. If you transfer over mid 2018 it won't give you the right schedule. Happened to me from 17 to 18.

Damn. I’m still in August 2020 but I don’t want to wait any longer for 19. I’ll just bite the bullet and play with the same schedule. I’d never forgive myself for simming the postseason.

You should be able to transfer this save to ‘19, finish out the season with current schedule and then after the offseason when you advance to next season have the real life schedule of 2019 for your 2021 season

              Hopefully that made sense

So, advance to, but do not play any of the spring training games?

No don't advance out of the offseason. Stay in the offseason and then carryover from there. Once you get '19 and carryover your save, then advance to Spring Training.

                      Re: Franchise Carryover Schedule Question

Thanks for all the fast replies! So it looks like consensus is that if I want real 2019 schedules, I have to finish the 2018 season first? I think that will be worth it, so I'll just have extra motivation to finish quicker! Now I have read a couple of different things on the exact timing of carryover so I want to be sure. When I googled, it seemed the advice was that you must carryover at the start of the offseason, before free agency and all that. CB, you seem to make it sound like carryover is something you do at the very end of the offseason, before you generate a Spring Training schedule. Just want to pinpoint where I should do this. Or does it not matter?

It doesn't matter whereabouts in the offseason. If you want to do your offseason with the upgrades of '19 then you can carryover as soon as the offseason begins. If you want to do all the offseason in '18, then I would transfer prior to advancing to Spring Training.
