So here's the story about game 5:

Gerrit Cole had a very rough first inning giving up a 3 run HR to J.T Realmuto. So I'm down 3-0 in the first inning. Battled back to tie the game at 3. Took a 4-3 lead, and then they fired back and took a 5-4 lead in the 8th inning. Matt Carpenter with a solo shot with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th to tie it at 5, and then a walk off shot to win the ball game in the 11th.

The story really was Matt Carpenter. He had one of the greatest single game performances in post season history. Going 5-6, with 2 HRs that were both absolutely clutch. He also hit for the cycle. Just what an incredible game and I was fired up!

I'm about to boot up the stream right now and play game 6. 3-2 series advantage, trying to punch my ticket to the big show right now! LETS GOO

We finished April 2020 with an MLB-best 24-6 record. But the Phillies and Mets have the second and third best records in baseball. It looks like it's going to be a dogfight in the NL East.

Gerrit Cole has been a disappointment so far. He's 3-1 with a 4.43 ERA in six starts. After a rough year in 2019, Sean Newcomb is having a terrific 2020. And Mike Soroka is a Cy Young candidate. Ronald Acuńa Jr. is the leading MVP candidate with Freddie Freeman not far behind.

I'm 2-2 since moving up to HOF. I've scored 24 runs in those four games, but all but one has come via homer. I've hit 14 homers on HOF. Obviously a small sample size, but kind of frustrating that I either get weak contact or a homer. Even though I won too much, All-Star was a little more fun at this point. I'm going to give HOF more time though.

Cardinals win streak snapped at 8

The Cardinals saw their winning streak come to an end on Sunday, as they were unable to complete the sweep of the Nationals in Washington, falling 7-5.

The Cardinals had won 8 straight prior to Sunday's loss and move themselves to within 2 games of .500 and just 7 games behind the division leading Reds.

The Cardinals will now be off tomorrow before heading home for a quick 2 game series with the Pirates.

Game 2: Both Shane Greene and Joe Jimenez blew leads in extras, as the Royals won Game 2 of the series, 3-2 after a Walk-off Home Run from Alex Gordon. The Tigers record is now 32-58. Game 3 takes place tonight.

I stuck with HOF for a while, but wound up back on All-Star, mostly because I felt hit variety on my end was lacking. I don't change sliders, but did max out the pitch speed sliders when I went back to AS. Even with faster pitch speeds, All-Star is proving to be a little too easy for me, so I'm moving to HOF full-time after my current season is over.

Sounds like we’re in similar spots, DJ.

Dynamic starts you out on Rookie, right? The next time I play the Marlins, I may put it on Dynamic and let it ride until I get to AS+. Then I’ll see how that compares to HOF for me.

I agree with you two I see more hit variety on All Star but its becoming too easy averaging 10 plus hits a game and scoring easily. On HOF it's mostly weak contact or home runs but I only average about 5 hits a game and have difficulty scoring.

I am having similiar issues with hitting but went from VETERAN to ALL-STAR and square up many hits for fly balls and lineouts. Usually score 1 to 3 runs. My pitching went from VETERAN to H.O.F., I do good with pitching, but if I give up 2 runs or more, I can guarentee a loss. Fustrated with hitting!

Cardinals split 2 game series with the Pirates

The Cardinals and Pirates split a 2 game series in Busch stadium. The Pirates won game 1 after beating up Drew Harrington who had his 2nd consecutive poor start in which he was knocked around. Harrington has pitched just 9 innings allowing 15 hits, 11 runs, and 6 homeruns in his last two starts.

The Cardinals avoided the mini sweep by winning game 2 on Wednesday behind Kyle Funkhouser's best start of the 2024 season as he pitched 7 scoreless innings of 2 hit ball and striking out 14. The only black eye on Funkhouser was the 4 walks he issued over the 7 innings, although 2 of those were on borderline pitches that could've gone either way.

The offense was good in the series as in game 1, despite Harrington's blow up, the Cardinals were still in the game as they tried to match run for run, but eventually came up short 9-7. In game 2, not much offense was needed, but the Cardinals did put 4 runs on the board on 8 hits and 6 drawn walks (7 including the intentional pass to Wisdom)

Ozzie Albies snapped out of his funk in this series going 4 for 6 with 2 doubles and 5 RBI's. Brendan McKay continued to stay hot as did Oscar Mercado.

The Cardinals are off on Thursday before starting a 3 game weekend series with the division leading Reds.

Cardinals activate Carson Kelly off the IL

The Cardinals have activated catcher Carson Kelly off the 10 Day IL. Kelly was placed on IL for knee inflammation.

Kelly will return to the starting lineup with his .256 avg with 1 homerun and 12 RBI's.

Top prospect Devon Snow was optioned back to Memphis to make room for Kelly on the 25 man roster.

                        Cardinals DFA Aaron Hicks

The Cardinals have designated Aaron Hicks for assignment. The 34 year old outfielder was signed to a one year deal when the Cardinals were struck with a rash of injuries at the outfield position and no real major league experience to lean on for the 8+ weeks they were without starting centerfielder Harrison Bader and top reserve C.J. McElroy.

Hicks has struggled in his brief time with the Cardinals hitting just .154 with 0 homeruns and 1 RBI. He also has committed 4 errors in just a little over 50 innings of play.

Whether the Cardinals outright Hicks to the minors, release him, or trade him (there is a small market) remains to be seen.

No corresponding move has been made, but its expected the Cardinals will activate C.J. McElroy off the IL on Friday.

Game 6 of the NLCS has been wrapped up and..... WE'RE GOING TO THE WORLD SERIES BOYS! With a 4-2 victory in game 6, we're set to take on the Yankees in the World Series. New York has not lost a game yet in the post season and they finished with the best record in the MLB in the regular season, so this is gonna be a tough matchup.

Ok, so I have been playing franchise and season modes in baseball games since back in the Nintendo days. I have played hundreds of seasons throughout my life in baseball game video games.

I have been playing the show full time so to speak since 08. that is almost 13 full years. I have come close to accomplishing this countless times. This is something I have been "hunting" since I played Tecmo baseball on the NES.

Now I can check this off my list of accomplishments.

                                OAKLAND

The first time I had ever been close to throwing a no-no was back in Tecmo baseball. I was one out away from it. I left my house to go get my friend down the street so that I would have a witness for this. came back and my dad had come in and turned off my system!!!!

over my time in the show, I have had them go into and beyond the fifth inning. even the ultimate heart breaker with two out and two strikes to have it broken up.

I have won tons of championships since I started playing video game baseball. This is one of my bucket list things that I can now check off

wow, I did this, I'm still in awe!!!!
