    Damn that's tough DJ

    Good luck in 2021.

Curious to see how your dangerous your offense becomes with adding Ozuna and Betts to the lineup.

Yeah, a tough one for sure. Our usually reliable starting pitching didn't register a single quality start in the postseason. Phillies were hot offensively and we did our best to keep pace, but didn't have enough in the end.

I'm excited for this younger/youth movement. We added better speed, contact, vision and defense to our team with the signing and call-ups. Should be fun.

        Injury update;

Game 1 of the Mexico series sees Justin Turner sent to the 60 Day IL with a broken forearm. In his first plate appearance of the game, Turner took a high Kyle Gibson fastball to the forearm on a 3-2 count. Turner would be immediately removed from the game and replaced by Kike Hernandez. This is the second time in as many years Turner has been placed on the 60 day IL.

To fill the roster slot with Turner out and Hernandez taking over as the everyday 3B, the Dodgers promote 22 y/o SS Gregory Ozuna from AAA Oklahoma City. Ozuna was a 2018 draftee who did not sign and was later picked up the Dodgers. Ozuna has the ability to fill in at either SS or 2B as needed.

Cardinals claim Paul DeJong off waivers from Orioles

The Cardinals already had one reunion pan out thus far when they traded for Stephen Piscotty from the Royals. Now they are hoping a second reunion works out as they have claimed Paul DeJong off optional assignment waivers from the Orioles.

The 30 year old was the Cardinals everyday shortstop and thought to the be future at shortstop until they acquired Ozzie Albies in a trade with the Twins. DeJong will join the 25 man roster and be the first bench option for the Cardinals in both defensive (plays SS, 3B, and 1B) and pinch hit opportunities.

Whether the Cardinals option Edmundo Sosa or Tommy Edman to Memphis to open a roster spot remains to be seen.

White Sox franchise - 2025 Offseason - Spring Training 2026

We started the offseason losing SP Michael Kopech in free agency to the division rival Cleveland Indians.

Only Hall of Fame inductee in the 2025 off season was Max Scherzer

In Spring Training we made a trade to fill the void in the rotation and traded C prospect John Endo and 1B prospect Brandon Dowling to the San Diego Padres for SP Dinelson Lamet and a fill in C Darrell Mayes.

We also traded RP Archie Bradley and CF Rafael Batista to the Rockies for SP prospect Richie Guerrero.

In other trade news in spring training the Cubs traded LF Kyle Schwarber to the Royals for a package of prospects.

The White Sox will have a few new faces in the opening day team, other than Dinelson Lamet.

SP Jordan Stephens makes his first opening day roster as our Spot starter/ long reliever.

2B prospect Daniel Paul made the team and will be our everyday 2B.

1B prospect Fernando Villarreal has also made the team and will platoon 1B with Jose Abreu to start the season.

OF Leody Tavares made the team with the last spot on the bench

RP Ken Iwamura will also be on his first opening day roster.

The White Sox will start the season against division rival Detroit Tigers. And for the second straight season will have no match ups against the crosstown rival Cubs in the regular season, but will face the Reds twice instead...

              Playing my Carry-over franchise. Year 3 - 2020.

              I'm the Orioles. Season 1 - 52 games won, Season 2 - 64 games won.

I made a trade for Francisco Lindor. I sent over Gavin Lux and Grayson Rodriguez.

5 games in and Lindor breaks his arm and out 1-2 months.

None of the matters because after 2 season I finally got my first series sweep against the Royals.

Right now I'm 9-5 and playing my best beisbol!

Cardinals lose Patrick Wisdom to broken wrist

A season that has been one setback after another, just took on another setback.

Reigning National League MVP and leading All-Star vote getter for third base, was lost to a broken wrist suffered from a fastball he took off the wrist from Jose Fernandez in Saturday's game.

Wisdom was hitting .285 with NL leading 21 homeruns and 68 RBI's. He is expected to return between the end of August at the earliest. Worst case is he is lost for the season.

The Cardinals are 37-40 on the year and trail in the division by 9 games and are 6 games out of the wildcard. As frustrating as this season has been, the Cardinals had hopes they could get hot and back into the races, but this setback will certainly put a damper on those hopes.

Paul DeJong will take over the everyday 3rd base duties.

                  Cardinals DFA Andrew Miller

For the 2nd time in as many seasons, the Cardinals have designated Andrew Miller for assignment.

The Cardinals brought Miller back this offseason on a one year $1.5MM deal to provide left handed depth and veteran leadership to the bullpen. Miller was decent in Spring Training and was effective thru the first month and a half of the season but lately he has completely blown up. He has offered up 5 homeruns (all lefties) in his last 6 1/3 innings pitched. He's failed to record a hold in that time and has been tagged for 3 losses in that time period.

There really isn't a market for Miller, so the Cardinals will likely release him, and its expected that Miller will finally officially retire from the game.

The Cardinals recalled LHP Robby Scott from Memphis to fulfill the vacant roster spot.

                    Trade Alert:

The 2020 Dodgers who appear to be in “win now” mode acquire 3B Matt Chapman from the A’s. The A’s receive SS Gregory Ozuna (22 y/o, 78 ovr, A) LF John Grant Young (19 y/o, 69 ovr, A) and RF Thomas Murray (19 y/o, 68 ovr, C)

Chapman will immediately take over the every day 3B duties from Kike Hernandez who will go back to the beach to be a utility backup after his brief stint as the Dodgers everyday 3B. The Dodgers front office hopes this move will help keep them in a title hunt this year with Justin Turner on the IL, even if it costs them 2 solid prospects with tremendous upside.

Ozuna will be a bench player for the A’s, while both Young and Murray will be assigned to AA.

After being absent from the boards for a while, spent the morning getting caught up on everything I missed.
I'm getting back to things slowly. My ps4 completely died on me, so had to get a new one. And then spent the last month and a half working twelve to sixteen hour days, so had very little free time.
Have to restart my franchise since apparently my saves weren't uploaded properly or something, so I can't recover my franchise. Gonna start a new one shortly

Sucks that your PS4 died and then you lost your franchise trying to transfer saves.

Yeah, it does. Thought I'd be able to get it back through the cloud saves, but wasn't able to get them for whatever reason. Oh well. It happens.

The New York Mets opened their 2021 season with a 6-4 victory over the San Diego Padres at Citi Field. New acquisition Mookie Betts went 3-for-4 with a double, home run and three RBI.

Following the game, the Mets made a trade, shipping Wilmer Flores and a SS prospect to the Houston Astros for J.D. Davis. Davis re-joins the Mets and will be the team's everyday third baseman. While Flores feasted on left-handed pitching, his lack of defensive range, speed and weak hitting against right-handers necessitated the move.

The Mets' youth movement continues, as the team now features just a single player (Travis d'Arnaud) over 30 in the starting lineup.

I don't post in here nearly enough...but I did hit a personal milestone over the weekend in having played all 162 games of a regular season with my Reds franchise for the first time ever.

As fate would have it, 162 games wasn't enough. After being 15 games under .500 in June, we battled back and finished tied with the Cubs for first place in the NL Central....so enter game 163. At stake, the division title and avoiding a tough Phillies club in the WC round (the winner on to play the Nats in the NLDS).

Well, Yu Darvish had his way with me and we lost the game 3-1. So, we're stuck playing the Phils - the winner going on to face a VERY tough Dodgers ballclub. Fortunately, we will have staff ace Madison Bumgarner going for us in the WC game.
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.
