What kinda sucks, dont get me wrong Im glad people like the mode, but there was an article online about sds possibly doing away with franchise mode..so if this mode is successful I can see it being the prelude to it...sorry I dont post much, manly just read posts.

Re: Well March to October is pretty much useless for me
I get annoyed at failing a 7 game moment, I cannot even imagine the rage I'd get at losing the WS on Mto and being expected to replay the whole thing. A 15 hour long pass/fail seems like absolute insanity tbh, it just means I'd never dare play it on a difficulty that I'm not 100% confident on winning pretty much every single time, as I can't be wasting 15 hours of my life on a fail
Lets give everyone a trophy then.

Re: Well March to October is pretty much useless for me
So you are mad that you cant handle higher difficulty gameplay ON HIGHER DIFFICULTY?
Im sorry but isnt that the point of higher difficulty gameplay... for it to be harder?
Kind of confused what you want to happen, if you can change pitch speed then how exactly is it harder difficulty for more rewards while playing on afk mode?
There are other modes, if you reached your limit move on, or spend time practicing, its not just about pitch speed, its recognizing what pitches and working pitch counts.
“I get that it's a reward based mode and that is problematic, but it would be nice to have the ability to negelect the awards in favor of adjusting sliders so I can at least enjoy the mode.”
...and I completely agree with the OP.Last edited by jeffy777; 03-29-2019, 05:57 PM.Comment

Re: Well March to October is pretty much useless for me
This is an absolutely ridiculous comment.
I will petition SDS to take away rewards for 3, 6, 9 wins in BR. Gotta go 12-0. No cumulative wins in ranked seasons, you gotta get 25 wins in a row for the end card.
Can you imagine playing an action/adventure game for 15-20 hours, dying at the end boss, and being forced to play the full game over again?Comment

Franchise mode isn't going anywhere.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I still don't understand why you can't simply play a season of franchise and have the same thing. They upgraded very little for franchise while spending developer hours to produce a mode which is simply a dumbed down version of franchise.
If they continue in this trend they risk losing some of their customers. I'd be interested to see what sales of the game look like relative to previous years.
I'm loving it and glad they added it, and pretty much all of the OS Twitter crew is in the same boat, so I believe you're underestimating it's impact.
I also find it ridiculous that someone would complain about them adding new modes and ways to play. More of the same shenanigans from the Get off My Lawn crew that have ruined these forums.Last edited by bkrich83; 03-29-2019, 11:42 PM.Comment

Yeah I can imagine that. It was called Ninja Gaiden on the NES. When you died you started from the very beginning.
When I finally beat the game in one sitting (no saves back then kiddies) it was one of the best video game accomplishments I ever had.
Bunch of whiny entitled brats.
Grow a pair and ball.
“If I can’t 100% guarantee win I will quit and take my ball and go home”
Sheesh people.

They won't lose more than they will gain with this mode. It play tested higher than any mode they had ever, and while purely anecdotal I was not going to purchase this year and this mode sold me on the game.

Re: Well March to October is pretty much useless for me
I’m currently playing a challenge where I’m supposed to finish a no hitter. I come in in the top of the 7th of a 0-0 game. My pitcher, Nathan Eovaldi, completes 12 no-hit innings and my offense still hasn’t scored. It’s player locked so I don’t get to bat as long as Eovaldi is in the game. He’s gassed so I pull him and the first batter in the 13th gets a hit. Im now in the bottom of the 14th and still haven’t scored. If I fail this challenge, I’m done with this mode.
EDIT: I lost 2-0 in 20 innings. My team had 20 hits. This mode is broken.
EDIT 2: Eovaldi got a fail and 2 snowflakes for the rest of the season. Wow.Last edited by adam42381; 03-30-2019, 12:54 AM.I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

So you expect to go through the whole season without failing a challenge? Thanks for proving our point.

Re: Well March to October is pretty much useless for me
This has gone a quite a bit course with debate about the mode vs. franchise, rewards, the state of the forum, the future of the game, etc., but none of that was the original point, which was a very valid one. The OP was saying this seems like a cool mode, but just wishes we could enjoy it the way we want to with sliders and forego the rewards, which mean absolutely nothing to me personally since I don’t play DD, so I’m in the same boat.Comment

I think the problem with this mode is that they tried to tie it to diamond dynasty. Diamond dynasty players want to grind for rewards, but they don’t want to grind for nothing.
The way this mode is designed is not short enough to be worth it for the diamond dynasty grinders. And it’s not detailed enough for most franchise players. So it’s somewhere in between. I think it appeals to people as a fun little side mode to play around with when you’re just wanting to mix it up.
Also being tied to rewards restricts the mode and prevents you from being able to customize sliders and rosters.
I agree with some previous posts that I think this mode would be better as an option within franchise mode.

I agree with you on he biggest mistake tying it to DD.
I disagree with the latter part. It’s my primary mode. From a franchise perspective it can’t match OOTP so I have no interest in franchise. This is mode is exactly what I’ve been looking for.

I made a small edit to my post above because, honestly, this mode would be perfect if you could use custom sliders and rosters (with the minor league teams and players), as well as go multiple seasons. It is pretty much what I do in a franchise because I don’t have time to play every game.
That’s why, for me personally, if it were an option within franchise mode it would be perfect. But I can certainly see the appeal.
