To say this is a disappointment would be an understatement from where I sit.

Could not have said it better. BK makes an excellent point, after a while your eyes get use to it so you think is not really there but it should not be the case after so many tries on the console

It got worst from last year which to me should never happen.

Guess I’m glad I don’t see it because it don’t look they’ll address it anyways, pretty disheartening to not see hardly anything that affects offline franchise guys addressed today

I saw someone in the Show Nation forum send this thread via link to one of the community managers who responded that he would forward the thread to the devs

So with that I hope this thread is not closed yet

I’m sure they were aware before, they just strategically pick and choose what’s addressed and it’s usually stuff that affects DD players and stuff like that........ I’m a strictly franchise guy and we tend to get the raw end when it comes to these patches

Hopefully it’s just a matter of some optimization.

Agreed, I’m still holding out hope since they fixed the stutter in 17 (used to happen at the start of each AB).

I honestly do think the better TVs help at least hide the framerate issues to a degree, there’s no other explanation why some see it more than others, between the tv quality and having all the settings appropriately adjusted to compensate for video game lag and stuff

TV cannot fix frame rate dips, that is coding in the game

A tv like the samsung qled have free sycn but that only works on pc and xbox one x. Sony even though it uses an AMD GPU does not make VRR available

If they did it would help stop screen tearing depending on the tv you get that has to have VRR which only the top end Samsung models have

But that does not fix fps drops, not on Sony consoles at least. You can buy a 5000 dollar tv it will still have the same issues as it would on a 500 dollar tv because is the game not the tv

FPS drops is much different then lag

Have any of you 4K PS4 Pro guys tried going into your PS4 settings >> sound and screen >> video output settings and set it to 1080p, then combine that with the in-game "Faster" setting?

I don't know if it's placebo or that I'm playing in minor league parks atm, but it seems smoother.

                        ^ This.

I mean if anything, you can set your TV to refresh at 120Hz and see if you like the effect enough, but it might come at a cost of introducing input lag. I don't like the effect myself and it's unnatural in comparison to what standard 60 FPS should be able to do for me, but sometimes you have to pick and choose your battles.

If you have a 4k tv and set the ps4 pro to 1080p (only the pro version) it would super sample but might improve things slightly but still there. A patch is required to fix the issue and am afraid a patch will make the graphics worst because that in reality is what needs to be toned down a bit

graphics can mean lighting and art work around the stadium, the game can use temporal AA which would improve the horrible jaggies but that comes at a cost of performance

The ps4 cannot handle that as it does not offer 120hz like the xbox one x does

if you set it to 1080p the tv native refresh rate of 120hz if your tv has that as not all do, only higher end ones would still receive a PS4 PRO 60hz output so that is not even remotely a good idea

If Sony allowed 120hz from their console like the X then we are talking

Look at a game like Sekiro which has better FPS on the Sony PS4 PRo over the X due to the x having better native resolution and shadows

But if you have a tv that is native 120hz or monitor then the x would sync with that and make the experience much smoother at a few fps lower then sony because of the high refresh rate smoothing out the frame pacing

Sony really failed with the PRo because I feel they neglected it after launch.

With AMD GPU they should have offered VRR and should allow 120hz

I was talking about the television, not the PS4. That's why I said "TV" in my post. Don't worry, I know what it does. I was hoping my post explained that lol.
