Re: MLB '19 Framerate drops/sutters help and discussion thread

KT, the only thing I'm still not understanding is that I have posted videos. I'm doing it to show what framerate tests I'm doing. So far, the ones I have measured are down below (top number says how many frames it takes on average before you get a duplicated frame):

    SPRING TRAINING STADIUM
    • new frame/dup: --
    • avg. framerate: 59.94 FPS (perfect)

    CHASE FIELD
    • new frame/dup: 199.7
    • avg. framerate: 59.64 FPS

    FENWAY PARK
    • new frame/dup: 20.9
    • avg. framerate: 57.21 FPS

    SUNTRUST PARK
    • new frame/dup: 11.4
    • avg. framerate: 55.10 FPS

    ORIOLE PARK
    • new frame/dup: 9.3
    • avg. framerate: 54.13 FPS

    WRIGLEY FIELD
    • new frame/dup: 6.8
    • avg. framerate: 52.25 FPS

    YANKEE STADIUM
    • new frame/dup: 6.5
    • avg. framerate: 51.94 FPS

I'll continue more when able, but I want to be adamant that there is a framerate discrepancy per ballpark. How "unplayable" it is for others is of course going to be subjective, and while I don't think it's unplayable I do think it should looked into and be addressed. That's why I believe this thread exists, and should remain existing (plus the data I'm collecting).

Re: MLB '19 Framerate drops/sutters help and discussion thread

This is a huge issue that has been ongoing for the game for the past few years.

Even in 17 and 18 under high frame rate mode the game still had some frame rate issues at times, and hitches specifically when the catcher threw the ball back to the pitcher.

This years game however is even worse when it comes to this. Try playing in SunTrustPark at night time and it's awful.

I have pretty much just been trying to play using the minor league parks now since at least in those stadiums the game plays really smooth.

For anyone who says they do not see this, they are just not sensitive enough to notice it. But for me when I play legend mode with zone analog hitting the frame drops makes it very difficult to read the pitches and get the correct timing on them. Playing a game in the day time with clear skies at a minor league park vs at a major league park at night in bad weather is a whole different ball game.

This frame rate issues makes it so modes like March To October are not enjoyable because almost every game has a bad frame rate.

This site and community thought had the ear of the devs for most companies but especially SCEA. This thread has 433 posts you would think there would be some sort of official feedback from them?

Well, yes... but I think it always played a solid 60 FPS during actual gameplay-based moments (when the pitch came in and when the ball was in play). Cutscenes and post-play moments might not have stayed there, but that's okay if that's the trade-off.

They said they'd look into it. This has been mentioned time and again.

They’ve responded on their site where bugs are reported that they are looking into it.

It’s been posted in this thread they have acknowledged and are looking into it.

There’s nothing really to do now but wait.

EDIT: Damn if I’d read a little more I could’ve said see blzer’s post

I can see the frustration that people have, as this is a huge issue and hopefully one that is fixed soon.

The game is so great and plays so well when its actually running smooth, and I can tell that playing in big league parks has a lot of details, the issue is that trying to play in those parks currently is an eyesore and not enjoyable.

Hopefully the developers fix this and get the game running at a smooth consistent 60FPS at almost all times.

I am willing to see them downgrade the graphics, lighting, shadows and crowds a bit to ensure the game runs smooth.

I can understand the frustration as well. But at this time if your experiencing the issue you have two options:

                1) Try to make the best of it and play through the issue

                2) Wait and see if a fix comes and play something else in the meantime

Continually posting here complaining isn’t going to solve anything. The devs know it’s a problem and they are looking into it.

Bigwill tried to offer help and was essentially ran out of the thread. I would’ve thought if the objective was to get the game playing smoother people would be more receptive to listening and trying any help offered instead of shooting it down and then complaining.

But if the objective is to find fault with the game and use it as ammunition to blast SDS and the game, well I guess this thread is perfect.

The point is not to blast SDS. But I believe many people are frustrated because it is a good game until the ball is in play to the outfield or being pitched. And that obviously is the core of the game and there is not a workaround for it.

Again I understand that frustration. But there’s nothing more to do than either make the best of it for now or wait for a potential fix.

They aren't going to give you progress reports. When they have determined the issue, how to fix the issue (if possible), they will respond. Until then, you're just talking to hear yourself talk.

I'd be upset too if something was really hampering my enjoyment of this game. But as of right now, unfortunately there is nothing more the user can do but make SDS aware (which they are) and try to make the best of it.

Didn't you earlier say something about adjusting a setting on your PS4 that helped? If so, sorry posts are running together, then I would go with that until something better comes along.

Yes I turned boost mode off on my pro. It may be in my head but I think it has helped...
