I’m seeing a ton of this as well. They’re fine while the ball is in play, but then I see it mainly on the pre-pitch cameras, but also randomly other times such as the pre-game views. Here are a few screenies I took, note the foul lines:

(wouldn’t let me embed them for some reason)

I went back and tested 18 and couldn’t reproduce to this degree.

I haven't had this happen to me at every park, just the ones I noted with poor frame rate (Minute Maid, Yankee Stadium, Coors).
I just did a game @ Nationals, and it was happening, but only for the first 2 innings. Once the sun went down everything was fine.

Might be a lighting engine or shadows issue.

Haha this is going to be such a dumb thing to say/ask but... I'm not a big techy guy or anything so I don't quite understand what framerate is and what to look for to know if it's good or bad.. Can someone explain to me like I'm five what to look for regarding framerate? I've played 4 games on HOF and won all of them and haven't noticed any obvious issues with seeing the ball or anything

Framerate is the ratio of how many new frames are displayed on screen per second of lapsed time.

In motion, there is a clear difference between 60 FPS and something that comes at less than such. For games, more frames is generally preferred.

Films traditionally play around 24 frames per second (24000/1001 to be exact, so closer to 23.976 FPS), many television shows would be 30 frames per second, and games on console would often do their thing to target a locked 30 FPS or 60 FPS.

From what I understand, MLB The Show 18 with a PS4 Pro and the Faster option enabled could maintain 60 FPS in normal gameplay flow. In MLB THe Show 19, it sounds like there are moments where the game doesn't maintain a locked 60 FPS the entire time. They can become almost more glaring or jarring because it's inconsistent, so you really see when they appear. I don't know if people are actually experiencing slowdown or if it's just choppier, but it's likely a result of too many things going on at once (too much to render on screen, too many calculations in the background, etc.).

In terms of noticeability, I'll put it this way: Have you ever seen Family Guy on TBS? Have you noticed that to get another commercial or so in, that they speed up a few parts of the opening theme song and other musical parts? They do this for other movies on TV as well, but FG is a perfect example. See, if the whole song was 5% faster, you might not notice it. But when it dips in and out from normal speed to 5% faster and back to normal again over and over, it really catches your ears and can be a nuisance.

Anyway, I don't know exactly what it is you need to be looking for till I get the game myself. All I'm trying to do is educate you on the matter. A fair warning, though... ignorance is bliss, my man. Many people believe that people who can sense more things in video and audio are blessed to get the most out of the best things there are to offer, when we are in fact cursed with all of the non-best things out there aplenty. Once you see it, you can't unsee it... and you'll only have me to blame, lol.

While playing the preloaded matchup and the stutter was absolutely terrible. Just finished played a full game after the complete download/patch and it's exponentially better, so I'm hoping that holds true for most of everyone else.

              Game is amazing.

So I just put my 2016 LG to HDR MODE (I think). I’ve been having framerate issues too and I was legit ready to go out tomorrow and finally buy a PS4 Pro. I’ve had the original PS4 since day 1. Now it sounds like getting a PS4 Pro might not even help. Maybe I should mess around with “faster” mode first and all that stuff before I go buy the pro? I don’t get why why having a pro matters when I play other games like Red Dead and it doesn’t stutter at all. How would having a pro help me with games that don’t stutter? Does a pro only make some games better??

I ask because I am using a 2TB SSD From Seagate (I think) and I am usually not connected to the internet and I am not experiencing the problems you all seem to be.
This is misinformation. Your HDD has zero effect on FPS. FPS is based on frames generated and frames are not stored on your system. The frames are generated by your CPU and GPU.

Yeah you can Play and win with these problems...

                    Let's say it this way:

Imagine a New car with a great engine and you drive from a to b and that trip feels awesome with that car... Now you took the engine of this car out and put it in a car who is old and not build for so much power. You will reach also your destiny but the trip will be not that smooth and you will not enjoy it and you know how it was with the other car...

So I just played 18and 19 back to back, and to ME it seems 19 is a little bit smoother. I played a game at Wrigley and a game away against the Rangers and the games were smooth. Some of the cut scenes were a tad choppy like in 18, but the game itself felt smoother. I have the first model PS4 slim fwiw. I'm extremely sensitive to frame rate changes, and I just wasn't seeing anything that stood out at all.

Played 2 more games yesterday, both in old Yankee stadium and hardly see any stutter anymore.
Could be just me getting used to it, or something the patch did?

No idea but i like it.

The patch was only 100-something mbs. Any performance type patch would be much larger than that.

That's not true. Actual code that could change a setting that would fix this could easily be a few bytes. I've been modding Madden over on PC and just changing a few parameters can make a huge difference in performance without making any significant change to file size. So I don't think the size of the patch matters in this particular instance unless the required fix is to re-download replacement textures for all the stadiums......

I won't get to fully investigate each park until next week. I did play for a little bit yesterday though. After the most recent patch, I'm still having the same framerate problems at the parks that I was before. This sucks! It's crazy to me that '18 could run super smooth for me, and I'm having some big time issues with '19.

For those of you not having framerate problems, I am so jealous haha. This game appears to play great, but this framerate issue is killing this game for me, just like it did with '16. Bummer

I have a PS4 Pro. Digital verision. I haven't noticed any drops while the ball is in play. The only really noticeable drop I've seen is on the pitching meter. There is definitely a drop and stutter in it.
