I too have noticed that's a bit harder to hit home runs this year. I've played 2 months of RTTS using my RF (The Anomaly) and I have 2 home runs with a .313 BA


I've been using power swing also, but it keeps dying in the warning track. Just need to keep working on my power.

On default legend for me the CPU getting hits every which way but when make contact it goes straight to fielder's or they do some spectacular catch. I need some of that hit variety the CPU getting.

I’ve played 25 games or so, and for me it seems it’s all about the PCI (pending your on zone). I’ve been finding when I don’t move the PCI much, I haven’t been hitting for a lot of power. A huge variety of hits and gappers but not a lot of taters. But when I go down and get one or get around on a high fastball with the PCI up, that’s when I’ve hit some HRs.

Overall, it just seems the power is a little more precise. You really gotta hit the sweet spot. I personally hope the don’t mess with it. I’m enjoying the hitting more out of the box than any previous year.

I have boosted the human power by 1 in sliders, doesn't seem to have helped too much as far as homeruns go.

Yes. I use X on 99% of swings and the rest of the time I use O, such as with a runner on 2nd with no outs and I aim down and to the right to move him over on a ground ball to 2nd base. Never power swing and have no issues at all.

Very rarely use the power swing. I may get tempted when it’s 3-0 or 3-1 but it’s hard enough to be precise with X.

It feels a little easier to hit this year overall but harder to hit HR’s. Which makes for a funner online or offline game. More balls in play and hopefully more people to be able hit more consistently . It should raise the overall fun factor.

What does the power swing actually change? Does it boost the player's power rating for that swing or what?

Boost to power rating with a penalty/decline to contact

I boosted both the user and cpu HR power to 6.

In my 1995 franchise, I gave up a bomb to Griffey on a hanging curve that he crushed.

I hit 2 HR's with Manny Ramirez off of Randy Johnson (solo shot - righty vs. lefty) and also Jim Thome hit a 3-run shot off of Bill Risley that was grooved down the middle on a fastball I timed perfectly and killed to right field.

Moving up them up a notch doesn't seem to have affected the play in anything negative regarding a power barrage. It might be necessary (unless they decide to patch this later because of complaints that will no doubt come from the masses). Personally, I like this...

I really think it's important to give it a few games for the home run numbers to start to appear.

Through my first four games:
Game 1: 0 home runs
Game 2: 0 home runs
Game 3: 1 home run - Stanton 8th inning
Game 4: 3 home runs - Judge 1st and 7th inning, Andujar 6th inning

The default pitch speeds are faster this year, and they said contact hitters would matter more, so once you get used to all of that the power numbers should start to even out

I've played a few games with the Braves using classic / directional on legend batting / pitching with default sliders and haven't hit a bomb yet. I've been rocked a few times though.

Just weighing in....I’m in year 2024 with my carryover franchise and have played 6 games so far and have yet to hit a HR. I play on HOF and zone hitting. I’m giving it at least 10 or so games. I’ve squared a ton up and am getting hits including several 110+ exit volocity hits. I’m thinking it’s a matter of time because I have Kris Bryant with a 95+ pwr.

Just started my franchise with the Marlins and hit 2hr's in the 1st game (Granderson and Alverez ) on All-star.I think above All-star there is going to be alot more RNG because it's still easy to make contact with the ball Legend is tuff tho. So the RNG will balance out the cartoon type numbers!

Power Outage?

I read this thread yesterday, I played a few games on HOF directional hitting. Only change I made was pitch speeds at 7 and user timing at 4. I hit back to back HRs......twice. In the same game.

I personally think it’s good that we’re seeing a wide range of results. That’s just like real baseball in my opinion. I’m actually really happy with the his game out of the box. The only changes I’ve made are the ones I mentioned above and fielder reaction, speed, and base runner speed all at 4. And cpu timing at 3. I’ve liked it so much that I’m debating not even waiting for sliders. It plays really well.
