With that being said, I always have a custom playlist:soundtrack with songs that I feel like are more baseball oriented and then those that I just generally like. Again, many of them have some kind of baseball tie-in. But I’m always looking for more songs that I haven’t though of. So I’ll lost my songs on my current playlist and would love to see what some of you guys listen to when playing The Show. Again, this is obviously for menu music.
On my playlist (keep in mind I’m a Cubs fan)...
1. Centerfield (John Fogerty): probably the most obvious and essentially song.
2. All the Way (Eddie Vedder): Again, Cubs fan here.
3. Cheap Sears (Alabama): another essential song directly about baseball
4. Go Cubs Go (Steve Goodman): Again, Cubs fan here.
5. Finger Poppin’ Time (Can’t remember the artist): another song played and, for me, synonymous with The Sandlot.
6. Warriors (Imagine Dragons): this was used on the Cubs hype video played while the team took the field at Wrigley dying the 2016 season.
7. Take Me Out to the Ballgame (Bruce Springsteen): another obvious one.
8. Intro music, inclusion radio calls from multiple, past MLB The Show games.
9. My Hero (Foo Fighters)
10. The Pretender (Foo Fighters)
11. Batter Up (Nelly): Not a huge fan of this one because it’s rap and there’s St. Louis ties, but it’s there.
12. Sure Shot (Beastie Boys): Rod Carew reference.
13. No Sleep ‘Til Brooklyn (Beastie Boys): Just like this one.
14. Movement and Location (Punch Brothers): nod to Greg Maddox and Chris Thile is a Cubs fan.
15. In the Air Tonight (Phil Collins): Just like the song
16. My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Fallout Boy): Band has Chicago ties and I saw them play this song at Wrigley in opening day, 2015.
Instrumental (themes)
1. For Love of The Game
2. Green Onions (song on The Sandlot)
3. The Natural
