Is RTTS Broken?

Serious question.

At first I thought this sequence of events was "just baseball" but now I'm wondering if it's some kind of glitch.

Drafted by Baltimore.. started the year at AA.

Decent year but not insane, .320 average and 2 homers when I get called directly up to the Majors on May 23. After about 5 weeks, I'm hitting .340 with 5 HR and get traded to STL.

Finished the year with STL at .308 w 14 HR 51 RBI and won NL ROTY.

About a week into the offseason, I sign a new contract for $1,050,000.

Ok, seeming pretty normal. This is when it hits the fan.

Mid November I get traded to KC. Early December, traded to the Rays. January, traded to the White Sox and as soon as the screen comes up where I'm "meeting" the White Sox manager, my PS4 freezes and is absolutely stuck at this point. I swear it feels like a bug.

Is this happening to anyone else!? Why me?

Well, no, that doesn't sound normal, and no it hasn't happened to me.

However, strange things have happened to me.

1) I created about 6-7 players at all the OF positions, and all infield positions besides catcher and pitcher...was only drafted by the O's for all of them.

2) I started choosing my team instead of being drafted, and I almost always got called up to the majors with an ovr rating lower than 70.

3) After the latest update I was drafted by the Mets as a 2nd baseman. I did the typical "we're trying you at a different position," and was moved to 3rd base. After the trial period they kept me at 3rd, which wasn't cool, because my ovr was lower by 3 points.

Here's the crazy part....they never moved me to 3rd, and I started at 2nd base....but with the lower ovr.

The only game mode I play in The Show, is rtts, and it has been a VERY strange ride this year, in every way possible. It's so wonky, I don't even know how to explain to the developers what's wrong, other than to say....the whole mode needs another look this year, lol

Been drafted by the orioles every time too. I hope this gets fixed. Picking your team is just unrealistic. Even after returning twice to showcase drafted in exact same position every time!

I was drafted by the Marlins as a starting pitcher. Half way through my first season, I was bumped to AAA. Near the end of my 2nd season, I was switched to a relief pitcher. Shortly after, I was bumped to the Marlins roster as a closer. Now into my 3rd season and still on the Marlins as their closing pitcher. No issues this far for me

It honestly looks like this is some kind of bug or glitch and I think it's safe to say that the mode IS indeed broken, at least for some.

When you started off, you were mirroring my start as well. I went back to college 2 times, and STILL got drafted by the O's with the EXACT same pick, in the exact same round. Each year was better, and I didnt even go up a round or two.


I lasted just till after the all-star break in AA, then I got skipped right to the majors. I dont recall my stats before I got called up, but they were not league leading in any category. I figured it was because of Machado being gone.



I too won ROTY, I batted .291 with 21hrs and 85 rbi. I played 1 complete season in Baltimore, and we won like 50 or so games. I asked to be traded cause I'm selfish lol, and got dealt to...yup you guessed it STL.


Beyond that, not sure why it would continue to bounce you. I had that issue in 18 before my rookie contract expired. I was being shipped to 2-3 teams a year.

The Orioles also seem to win a disproportionate number of gold gloves in franchise mode.

I’m pretty sure I’ve read something suggesting that the game (at least as far as awards) goes by alphabetical order in the event of what it sees as a tie. Perhaps if that’s true, the same kind of error is happening in RTTS.

I’m pretty sure I’ve read something suggesting that the game (at least as far as awards) goes by alphabetical order in the event of what it sees as a tie. Perhaps if that’s true, the same kind of error is happening in RTTS.

Yes, the game has always given out gold gloves based on alphabetical order of the teams and the person with the highest fielding percentage on that team. So Baltimore and Atlanta has always had the highest number of GG winners. Not sure why it has never been addressed.

Report this as a bug.... I desperately want them to address/fix this. I've seen this commented on everywhere and all or majority are experiencing it.

I decrease the trade slider when I start a RTTS character/save.....I also keep a backup save after every series or two I play as something I can get back to if the game makes a terrible trade. The trade logic has always been terrible for the game.
