I really like the idea above
May just replace sim by quick manage

I really like as well the suggestion regarding subs and low energy

I was thinking the same thing. Might give this a go too, very unique, awesome approach.

This type of thread is fun cause you get to see so many other ways to enjoy franchise.

1st game of the series I play every 2nd inning so 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th & 9th. If I win that game then the 2nd game I simulate until the 6th and play the rest with quick counts on. If I lose the 2nd I go back to the first game method for game 3.

Haha don’t thank me! I just remember this from an thread a few years back and glad we could find it.

I’m currently playing every 6th game, quick manage 1, player lock 1 and using the wheel for the other 3. Keeps thing fun and at a healthy pace.

But when I play out a game and hit the option button to see options such as Quick Manage, what I find is that the Quick Manage option is usually locked. Some of the other options are also locked (like Exit!). So I resume the game and try pressing the option button again later. Then some other random subset of options is locked. But usually, the Quick Manage option just stays locked. What gives? Is there are way to make these options stay unlocked?
You have to hit pause between pitches or during dead ball moments. During cutscenes may not work either. Right after a batter comes to the plate, hit pause. Should work

Will probably do the quick manage five, play one method going forward. I initially wanted to try playing a full season, but I just don’t have the time (and would like an on base percentage that is slightly higher than my batting average).

I have always rotated starting pitchers so I play once every 6 games but looking to add to that by installing a new method. Was thinking of player locking the games in between?

Interesting thread. I'm debating whether an "every 6" approach would keep my attention. I was opposed to this initially because I felt like the stats would not mean much to me if I only actually play 27-32 games out of the season. But on a console and with my time availability, full 162 is not going to happen, and The Show doesn't really give you any other options.

I think this could work because if I'm being honest, my favorite aspects of many sports games are season/franchise/GM things that happen outside of gameplay. This was true for a decade of NCAA Football games, older Madden games, and several seasons of the NBA 2k, FIFA, and NHL EA series. If any sports game could hold my interest because of the off-field activity, I would have to think a baseball game could accomplish that.

I like fantasy draft in sports I follow in real life because I run into an "uncanny valley" thing where I don't like following the real team and then a bizarro alternate universe version of the same team that is like 85% of the same thing.

The only way I’ve actually gotten trough multiple franchise seasons is using this method -
#1 starter - play full game
                    #2 starter - pitch only
                    #3 starter - hit only
                    #4 starter - pitch only
                    #5 starter - hit only
Than I flip flop 2-5 the next time through... and I always pitch during a save opportunity....

I’ve always played as the mariners, play as realistic a franchise as possible and wait for ridin to come out with osfm rosters... only trade for players at the deadline depending on my record and I my only house rule is if I’m offering a trade it can only be for players from Washington state... traded Robinson cano, Kyle seager and Kyle Lewis last year for Michael conforto for example

Thanks for the tip, but to show how new I am to this, where is the pause button? I've been pushing the options button, playing out the game as CPU vs CPU.
