Hitting settings - is there a way to set up a more classic feel?

I do enjoy the zone hitting and the cursor system, but is there not a way to remove it entirely and just have X regular swing, Square power, and Circle contact?

The reason I ask is I occasionally get frustrated because I'll "move" the cursor too much to hit say, an outside pitch, and end up moving under the "sweet spot" and pop out on a pitch I should really be creaming.

Any ideas? Is directional more like this?

How about you try Analog Stride, before the pitch you press circle for contact, Square for power or press nothing and the default is X for normal swing...then just swing in a more natural way with the right stick...on your upswing you can move it slightly where the pitch is at...size of PCI and the rest is more dependent on the hitter's rating.

Thanks - I've tried analog flick and stride before, but I find my timing is never right. (I'm inconsistent in how fast I can flick forward to catch up to a fastball sometimes).

I didnt realize there was some slight variation if you move the left stick when you flick though, good to know

Yes, directional feels like the classic, "standard" baseball game hitting to me. That's what I use and I much prefer it to any other hitting option.

Thanks! Good to know. I've probably played with directional the least. I'll give it a try.

Don't use FLICK! It's useless! Do it with the full Stride so you gain a sense of timing with your backswing...ofcourse every batter will feel different but thats the way it should be.

Check out TheWarmWind’s directional hitting guide.

              https://forums.operationsports.com/f...ing-guide.html

It’s insanely detailed, but the gist of it is yes, directional hitting is probably what you’re looking for.

This thread totally changed how I thought about hitting in this game.
