    Stadium ads?

I honestly have no idea where to put this but had a weird idea I suppose. I just saw a video of mlb2k (link is at the bottom) but there was a mod for real stadium ads I don’t know if this could be potentially a thing or not but I’d definitely would pay for a add on in the PlayStation store if this was possible. With all the talk about the show being kind of hungry for money I mean I don’t blame ‘em but if they want more money content make me buy something that makes the game more authentic since I am definitely not a DD person.

Obviously having alcohol ads would be hard to get in but shoot the game already says miller park with the same font and everything as the beer so they have the ok to put it in the game right? Coors ? Same thing...maybe there’s something I don’t know if anyone does have a answer feel free to let me know. T•mobile park has t•mobile plastered everywhere but not in the game and Petco park has a t•mobile home run deck. My point is if the have the right to say it in the game why not put it in at other parks for some added realism?

All advert spaces should be set up where you can copy over with what ever image you want: Budweiser, Google, a picture of your wife, kids, whatever you want.

So I know in the video now is a mod for PC so a lot more customizable things can happen but here is what I was talking about with petco park

Exactly! Me personally would take the time to change every stadium. Even if it is a legal issue with trademark complications just let the fans do it and SDS can turn the other cheek so to speak.

Some examples but just imagine the shows awesome stadiums

I'd think so long as they didnt have an ''Ad Vault'' there would be no trademark infringement if you keep your setup to yourself. I'm no liar, I mean lawyer so I really dont know what the legal ramifications are

            Re: Stadium ads?

If what you are asking is why don’t they have advertisements that really exist when they have the naming rights with the same name as the advertising, then the answer is things don’t work that way.

Having a deal to replicate the stadiums or names of venues doesn’t equate to having the right to use that name for anything else. So the developer would have to pay again to have the real advertising in the game. A separate contract would be needed to show T-Mobile as an advertising sign in Petco Park, in this example. Where as in real life T-Mobile pays the Padres. Here SDS would need to pay T-Mobile. And having T-Mobile Stadium doesn’t give them the right to do anything else with T-Mobile.

Ok I’ll push it further, probably off limit lolll

Why not having a kind of Google Ads system ? Real ads, real money exchanged based on views.

                  Re: Stadium ads?

I guess I did a poor job of explaining what this post was meant to be just a idea I guess that most likely won’t happen but there could be a couple ways to implement it into future show games.

The first way being having a option in the vault to edit any ad space with whatever you like, even a picture of your grandmas dog if you’d like.

The second would be a add-on feature in the PlayStation store where SDS would do it and you would have to pay for it. All I was saying was I’d pay for it. In other games like madden did the same thing sort of with jerseys you can buy if you wanted it that bad. Definitely a lot more loops to jump through for SDS but that could be beneficial to them making money and I doubt a company would say no to having there logo in a game considering it’s more advertising. A lot of people I’m sure would think that’s a horrible idea to have more ads in the game but that’s why there’d be a choice just not to buy it.

                      Re: Stadium ads?

They use to do something like this for MLB the show when it was on PS3. I remember a billboard cut out on the Jumbotron at Coors field being a Texaco or Subway ad. It would change routinely.

Other sports game did it too. NHL did it with their board ads. I wonder if it wasn’t worth the cost so they scraped it?

This wasn’t team/stadium specific, more so just rotating ads that did bring an element of realism to the game.

I remember one year of The Show where they had real-time ads. There were ads for Subway and some Discovery Channel show that would just pop up in the game throughout stadiums

In earlier versions of the game there was a franchise mode feature where you'd get to choose ad sponsors for parts of the stadium and even make a media broadcasting deal. That's what they should bring back to add a bit of extra depth to the franchise mode. Especially now that they've introduced real player salaries to the game, the system needs to be fleshed out more (I'm dreaming obviously).

Further to that, they should also build on the custom stadium sounds feature and let us choose a jumbotron package so we can vary the animations that pop up for Home Runs and Strikeouts; and for the ribbon boards.
