Tropicana field... I had something cool happen last night

Just wanted to share. Was playing a game against the Rays at Tropicana last night. As most of you know their bullpens are down the right field/first base line. Hit a slicing grounder last night that would have normally been a single or double in normal corcimnstances in the 7th. Just so happens there was two pitchers warming up in the bullpen, and the screamer wound up hitting the catcher and bouncing strangely past the right fielder giving me a triple (batter had really good speed 88). I never new the guys in the bullpen were interactive. I thought this was a really cool touch by SDS. Definitely would have been pissed if it happened and I was pitching though lol

That's awesome! I had something very similar happen while playing a game against Oakland at the Coliseum. Although the ball I hit was foul and smacked a pitcher warming up. It was pretty funny. Your play has me questioning something though. In baseball rules, if you hit a ball that was fair, and then hit a pitcher warming up, is that considered interference therefore a ground rule double? I only ask bc you got a triple out of it. I haven't heard that ever happen before. But cool nonetheless! [emoji4]

Should be still in play. No interference unless it was intentional. Unless a particular ballpark has specificied otherwise in its ground rules, (which i am not aware of any team that specifies this). In Oakland it should be a live ball.

Yeah I don't know what the rule is but the game definitely has it programmed as a live ball. I just kept running as it richochet passed the right fielder, and all he could do was jog back and go get it. The umps didn't stop to review or anything. My guess is it probably doesn't happen in actual gameplay enough for SDS to program a technicality for it. I have been playing the show since '07 and this is literally the only time it's ever happened.

I'm having a deja vu feeling all over again where I feel like this happened to me at Polo Grounds

It's pretty cool that they added that kind of stuff in! Like you said, I don't remember this being in the game before.

I've also seen a few weird things, in different stadiums but these didn't have anything to do with the stadium. A foul ball bouncing toward the guy in the on-deck circle and he just stands there while the ball hits him.

Also, one that is a glitch. In the Ranger's park, Brantley hit a line drive down the RF line and the ball boy stepped into fair territory and grabbed the ball just before it hit the ground. I watched the replay to make sure what I saw really happened and it was still fair by a foot or so. I think it's another stadium glitch where foul territory is coded wrong in that stadium.
