    Auto Fielding Issue

For the 2nd year now, I'm experiencing issues with Auto Fielding, specifically as it relates to ground balls hit to first base. When your player fields the ball and you tap circle for him to step on the bag, HE DOESN'T STEP ON THE BAG. Most times, he runs past the base and towards the dugout, but I've also seen instances where he'll stand in front of the bag and the CPU runner will warp through my player to reach base safely.

I thought this was fixed at launch, but it's become more frequent in recent weeks.

Anyone else on Auto Fielding experiencing this? Do you have any workarounds? At this point, I'm going to start throwing the ball to 2B and having the SS/2B throw the ball back to first.

Unless the first basemen is out of reach and the pitcher is running over, don't hit O , use the left analog stick and run over the the bag yourself.

I have experienced an issue where the 1B will field a grounder within 5 feet of the bag and when I hit "O" he throws it to the pitcher that just left the mound en route to the bag. Nine times out of 10, this results in a hit for the CPU. Super frustrating as I feel the AI doesn't have a sense of purpose at times. I love auto fielding but there are some glaring issues that need to be addressed. It is unfortunate that you unlock a plethora of animations using auto than if you were to use manual. I've also had Mike Trout let a number of fly balls drop within inches of his glove where in real life he would have definitely made an attempt to snag it. That's an issue for another day lol Good post, bro!

Yep...bug and it has been around for a little while. Just move the LS to the bag and have him step on the bag.

If the bug rears it's ugly head a perfect workaround is....take control of the other team and get intentionally picked off. Totally fair as he should never have been standing on first base to begin with.

I will try that because it doesn’t work when you flick the stick. Let’s hope they fix this this year. Really unbelievable this bug carries over year after year. Has SDS even acknowledged bug?

Yeah flicking the stick is not the way to do it. Just control the first baseman and move him towards the bag and he will go into the “stepping on the bag” animation. Really easy.
