Open/Closed Roof

I am playing as the Blue Jays in franchise and every time I pick open roof, during the game it is closed. Any idea why?

To answer your question.... I have no idea. Looked around in some other forums and Reddit and haven't found anything on this either. I've seen it do this when experimenting with stadiums I want to play in. Also... you don't get the option in RTTS and in many cases the roof is open even if it's raining. Better consistency with the retractable roofs is one of the features that was added to Madden. Would like to see it work as it's supposed to....especially in RTTS mode.

Don't know if i'd call it a 'feature' in Madden fixing something they should have had correct from the outset for several releases.

Agree.... and I'm far from singing EA sports praise. This should be correct in MLB the Show as well. If you opt for open.... should be open. If it's raining outside, coming a flood, it should be closed if you have not option to do it as a user.

At SDS, they think we have snow in July and polar bears around the corner.

Oh BTW, San Diego average in July is 75.2F where in Toronto iit’s 78.2 ;-)

I just played through July, where there was one day game above 80 and one night game where Heidi wasn't in a jacket. Throughout the entirety of July.

I seriously think SDS thinks we live in igloos and play pond hockey year round. They treat June like it's still April. We desperately need the ability to set game temperatures, the ones in the game are cartoonish.

I've never checked to see if the roof was open or closed but I'm guessing if you simply check before the first pitch you can restart the game until you get the desired roof status.

Speaking of roofs I remember the year MLB had the all star game in Milwaukee it was raining and water was pouring through Bud Selig's roof. Kind of comical to see.

What month are you in?

I'm wondering if it's due to the temps being cold so the roof stays closed.

Is it set to closed and you are changing it I'm guessing?

That probably still shouldn't matter, when they give you the ability to open/close the roof.

baseball should be played outdoors on real grass under real sunlight (or moonlight) . I feel like this is the punishment the baseball Gods have meted out for having a dome to begin with . also , the most disappointing thing I learned today is the peoples north of the border dont all live in igloos & dont all have polar bears as pets . I take some solace in knowing they still at least all have penguins for pets & are too friendly to be upset about their roofs (rooves?) not working properly

Was playing over the weekend on a SS RTTS save where I was drafted by the Mariners. It seemed to work fine for the 2 months I played with them. Called up in May, traded in July to the Nationals. I no longer have to worry about an open or closed roof on this save.
