Does anyone else throw an absurd number of wild pitches?

I’ve been having an issue, since the last few years, of throwing too many wild pitches. In a 33 start season I’ll throw between 15 - 20 WP’s a year. Anytime a pitch touches the dirt it always gets away (even with Sal Perez as my catcher).

My settings are All-Star and Meter pitching.

I’ve tweeked the fielder reaction slider but it did not make a difference.

If anybody can help me with this that would roses.

Try up the blocking slider for catchers? I know I have most of my catchers in 80-99’s cause of all the wild pitches/passed balls. I still see them but not overly done I don’t think.

I don’t see an blocking slider option. I’m in RTTS so I can’t edit my catcher’s overall fwiw.

No, but I do ground into an absurd number of double plays.

To give this a little more context; through my current pitchers 8 seasons I’ve made 225 starts (with 0 relief appearances and never simulated) and have 152 wild pitches.

To compare; Chris Sale IRL has made 215 career starts, with 80 relief appearances and has thrown just 36 career wild pitches. (Via Fangraphs).

I havent had a problem since Tim Wakefield retired. Back in the ps3 days, I used to love me some Wakefield. Sorry to ramble off topic. Back in my younger days when I would play online occasionally , I'd love to pitch with Wakefield, and then to perplex my opponent, never throw a knuckleball until the 6th or 7th inning lol

And back on topic, the 2 pitches I'm likely to be wild with are the slider, especially when trying to throw it way outside, and the 12-6 curve, especially when trying to throw it at the plate. But even then, I wouldn't say its excessively wild.

On the off-chance I’m batting I turn into a double play Douglas. I need to join the high launch angle revolution.

Bouncing the curve and splitter are my bugaboo.

In warmups I generally gauge the aim in where I can put my target for my breaking balls to see how low I can throw it before running the risk of bouncing it and risk a pass ball, better pitchers can usually throw it without bouncing it and using more effort/velocity also helps

Ok but league leaders average around 15-25 WPs per season, you’re not much out of step with that. Is your RTTS guy Chris Sale caliber? What kind of control ratings do your pitches have?

Anyways yeah WPs seem a *little* high to me too, but it’s more like 1 or 2 too many per week, not something I’m particularly frustrated with.
                    Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.

All the time. Bouncing pitches needs to be fixed. Especially on high difficulties it’s a key - and realistic - swing and miss pitch. But I can never throw it with runners on.

CPU throws at least one wild pitch a game in my franchise. Seems a little overdone to me.

I've thrown 15 as a team thru 56 games. That's not the most. The Padres, Mariners, and Nationals each have 16.

This is default Legend with Meter pitching.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Control is probably around 70 - 79 on all pitches.

There is no blocking slider. Unless it’s related to the fielding slider
