Positives through 4 games

- missing pitches in the zone even with good timing (directional). Maybe the vision stat is actually playing a part finallay

- with solid hits at 4 getting really nice hit variety

Negatives

- I am connecting for hits way out of the zone again. Hit a 2 RBI double on a sinker a good foot below the zone

- so much for the strikeouts with the timing decrease. All star default sliders with only solid contact reduced to 4 only 4 strikeouts total in my last game between me and the CPU. Way to many 9-12 pitch at bats because of foul tips out of the zone.

- way too much power. 12 homeruns just by me through 4 games.

All in all it seems like with the all of these patches bunched together SDS is TRYING, at least trying to find a positive and at least that's a good thing. Gam definitely playing better than after 1.09 with solid hits decreased by 1. May have to lower by 1 as well.

Are you still using Default All Star for hitting?

Yes. Default All Star Hitting and default HOF pitching has been my sweet spot. My runs allowed are a little low but hits/k’s/so’s all seem to be reasonable. I was hoping it would level out somewhat but still trending a little too positive for me in that department.

In the past, I've tended to bump solid hits up a notch so I like the feel of this patch at default. I've found that the CPU nibbles a lot more at the mid difficulties this year (All Star), and they don't give you nearly as many meatballs down the middle compared to last year...so when I do get a good one...it's time to grip it and rip it.

I must admit I’m leaving it at Default 5 (All Star) ATM. I’m just enjoying JD, Mookie and Xander being back in form for a while......

Woah! What happened? Finally got to play today and it's like they flipped a switch to arcade mode or something. It feels like a pinball flipper. Even when my timing is off the ball is just shooting off of the bat.

Only two games but this was my experience as well. Gonna need to tweak sliders. Smh.

My experience has been just drop solid hits slider down one from wherever it is now and hitting will be back to pre patch 1.10

This just eliminates the “boost” they gave to line drives

Nothing drastic

I’m now 5 games in since doing that and hitting is fine

I’m at default HOF hitting with everything except solid hits at 4 and it’s great.

Are you finding less strikeouts since the patch? I’m striking no one out on legend. Used to be average of 6 or 7 per now it’s 3.

No strikeouts are the same

The only thing for me was I felt the ball had too much umph coming off the bat. Everything else is fine

Must be just me then.. I lowered the solid contact but the ball still feels off. Just too much power. It also rolls way too fast when bouncing on ground in the outfield. I’m so disappointed with the game now

Try dropping the power slider by one and see how it feels

Playing several games with this patch at default I felt the ball was too lively off the bat. Now thanks to the ability to "counter their adjustment", I lowered solid hits slider by one and this game is playing beautifully again. Everything feels "normal" for me again.

I've now played 10 games post patch and all is right with my baseball world.

That’s the beauty of this game over other sports titles. The slider adjustments actually work and you can notice subtle changes. Other games I feel like I spend more time chasing sliders all season than I do just playing and enjoying the game.

Yeah, I agree that solid hits at 4 is a must (no matter which difficulty setting one uses). The irony is that they put in a tweak to lower line drive frequency in 1.09 but it was just for DD - to offset the higher ratings. If they had put that tweak into all modes, I don't think any slider adjustments would be needed. (It's not that big of a deal....I just fine it amusing that they made the tweak for the audience less likely to appreciate it...)

Just had my most satisfying at bat post-patch. I’m losing 4-1 to the Phillies in the top of the 5th. I load the bases with no outs with an infield single, a solid line drive single just over the head of the second baseman and a hit batter. Cespedes hits a weak fly ball to center not allowing the run to score. Conforto next up gets behind 0-2. Striking out is not an option here with bases loaded and one out. I proceed to foul off the next 7 pitches barely making contact on a few of them. Finally on the 10th pitch of the at bat I get a hanging curveball on the outer part of the plate and and hit a low liner over the left center field wall for a grand slam and a 5-4 lead that I would never give up. I added some insurance runs late and won 11-5.
