    Free Agents

What is the difference between putting free agents in AUTO or MANUAL, in franchise mode?

    When set to:

AUTO - The computer will sign free agents for you

MANUAL - You sign the free agents yourself
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

in a word; everything. On auto teams will sign with no regard to what they already have on their roster. For example, SS Machado would sign with Cleveland despite having Lindor and Ramirez. Or a team like the Dodger will sign three top SP while already having 8 top starters. It's dumb. It's weird. It's broken.

I usually put it on manual for the first few weeks and give the top free agents 3 legit offers and see what happens. Then, the lesser impact guys go on Auto.

To be fair, Machado to 3rd, Lindor at SS and Ramirez sliding back to 2B would be a pretty deadly infield...

But yes, you're right, 30 team FA on manual (or Auto with the ability to move them around after they've signed) makes more sense.
