    What team

Which team arw you using for franchise? Why? I've taken a 2 month hiatus from the game. Now I'm itching to get back to it. Was using Arizona, but wasn't what I was looking for. I like a team with a star or two to keep it interesting or a quality farm system, but the MLB squad I want to be able to rebuild. Small market, big market, doesn't matter. I'm an A's fan so playing as any AL West teams is tough for me.

I've been playing with Baltimore. They're awful, but a fun rebuild. They have a few guys on the major league squad you can build around, and a few prospects who might develope. Plus their park is pretty cool looking.

        Re: What team

I play with the Rockies. Team isnt too horrible, some good pieces in the minors, and good young core to build around. First and second base have been a struggle for me to fill, and I have been trying to stick to their horrible formula of not signing big name pitchers.

not playing a franchise other than a Braves carry-over, just 1 & done season with the Orioles White Sox & Mariners. If you're looking for suggestions & dont want to run into Oakland often, then I'd suggest an NL team, perhaps the Mets or Reds

Go with the Jays. They’re rebuilding but have solid young players to start the rebuild with. As a plus you get to face tough teams like the Yankees, Red Sox and Rays to keep everything interesting.

Between McMahon Hampton and Brendan Rodgers I’m shocked you didn’t pick any of them to play 2nd! They are a reallly fun team tho

                      Re: What team

My team the Detroit Tigers, man are they a challenge to rebuild. They really don't have any young pieces in the majors to build around. To top it all off while they do have quite a few good starting pitching prospects, outside of that they really don't have much else in the system. A couple of positional players that could be something, it all depends on how they progress. The cool thing about a Tigers rebuild is with the total lack of positional prospects in the system you almost have a blank canvas to mold your offense in to whatever you want. The problem is you will need to draft well or it's going to be a really long rebuild.

I'm a strange bird who sets the game to CPU vs CPU in franchise mode. I have the CPU control everything once I find the best roster and sliders to go with them. I don't actually play the game in franchise mode, but if I did, I'd probably go with the Orioles. Facing the Yankees, Red Sox, and Rays while building a contender would be the most fun. The Braves are my team, but they're already a contender. LOL

                          Re: What team

I have done so many Franchises since 2012.
I used to only do the Reds because it was my team and I wanted to win the whole thing every year. Then, I realized how fun a rebuild could be and I've only done those since. This year's Reds team is too good so I can't use them.

On older versions I used the Cubs (for the story line of ending the curse) and the Astros because they were awful.

I've used the Braves, Tigers, Miami, Padres, A's, Mariners, Twins, Royals, and recently the Orioles and Giants. These were all when they were bad and one of the major influences for me is (not in order) Stadium, Unis, Roster, League, Realism.

I like to do story lines and use this site and another one to keep track of my rebuilds. I like to see the moves I've made to build the team. I love the videos and articles of things like How the Cubs were rebuilt, etc.
I grew up a Reds fan so while I'd love to use the Pirates I just can't. The A's were always a good team because they usually make similar moves to what I like to do: cut budget, draft well, trade stars. The Tigers are now a solid rebuild for me and I'm considering starting over with them. My Giants franchise is cool because of their stadium and the pieces they have to trade in. However, I started it a month or so ago and haven't been able to keep up do to working 12 hours a day and having two little kids. The Braves are too good now and the Royals have already been good too recently.

The Mariners are a solid choice because they have the stadium, cool uni options and their GM makes a ton of moves.

All in all I love to trade, draft and break down a team to the bottom and build them up. I won the World Series with Marlins and A's but those are the only two teams I've "completed" a franchise with. I start over a lot because I get too many good young players and it gets boring for me.

Whoa, that was a lot of rambling as I sip my coffee but happy franchising!

This sounds enticing, a clean slate(minus Cabrera) on offense. I might give them a try.

I always have this problem. I think I’d like to play in the AL east without the guilt of picking the Yankees even though I love their roster. I never like picking my Tigers because I like to make some moves and it feels wrong with a team im too familiar with.

Been waffling in the Rays and Orioles. Love the Rays pitching staff as is and may tweak the offense a bit. The trop, though . Baltimore I worry is too big a project but with great unis and stadium. Ugh.!
