    my MLB The Show advice

Unless you want to experience some of the most time-wasting insults to your gaming abilities do not play the Diamond Dynasty offering. It's ripe with leveling/equalizing code. To the extent you and your opponent will be playing on 2 completely different difficulty levels.

Unfortunately, like so many online sports offerings anymore the foundation of San Diego Studios/Sony offering is the "packs" you can buy to better your team. When, in reality, you can purchase these packs and get what looks like much better players. But due to the inherent equalizing algorithm built into the online play, player abilities often make no difference. To get to the point..you can spend countless hours and dollars building your Diamond Dynasty team only to lose quite often to drastically lesser teams. Which, in most folks opinions, the driving factors for acquiring better players is to build a team that can defeat lesser players. Doesn't work that way in Diamond Dynasty.

The rest of the game isn't bad but, unless you want a miserable and often stressful/frustrating experience, stray away from their online offerings and the dollars they attempt to relieve you of from purchasing their "pack" offerings.

I agree with you. This game, in my opinion, is too convoluted as are all sports game which have been ruined with microtransactions and collections etc The Conquest mode is also confusing which is why I do not play it.
