Need help hitting HR's in MLB 19!!

So,not sure exactly what I'm doing wrong,if anything, but I've noticed that I've hit very few homeruns in MLB 19 thus far. I've played maybe 15 exhibition games and I started a franchise using Bacons fictitional roster, and I'm 7 games into Spring Training so far and I've only hit 3 homers so far in franchise mode and I'm estimating I've hit maybe 4 or 5 in those 15 exhibition games,so just trying to figure out what is going on or what I can do to hit more HR's,without messing with sliders and making it too unrealistic where I'm hitting 7 or 8 every game.

I play on Veteran difficulty and I haven't tweaked any of the sliders so far. I don't have too tough of a time hitting the ball and I have been able to guess the pitch and location somewhat frequently, but seems like when I do it's always a frozen rope liner, usually right at a fielder.

Like I said,I don't want to mess anything up where everybody is hitting 40+ homeruns like it's the '98 season, and I love how the game is playing so far, seems to be close enough to the outcome of a real game each time I play, and I feel that the difficulty is right where it needs to be for my skill level where I don't win 20 games in a row,but I'm not getting smoked each game either. I'm just wondering what some of you guys recommend I do, maybe where if I guess the pitch and location, theres more chance of a long ball and not just a hard hit out. Any suggestions would be welcome, and thanks in advance!

Honestly, in my opinion I would not change a thing. You say you are happy with the way its playing and are having fun? Then let it be. Baseball is cyclical, the home runs will come.

I am playing on All Star default and I am not hitting a lot of bombs either. But when I do they seem to come in bunches and from guys that should be driving the ball. So if you really are happy with the way it is playing, just relax and let it happen. If you start stressing over it then you will just make it worse. You will start trying to force it and then it you'll start struggling at the plate. Dont start chasing sliders either. If you open that can of worms you will never stop and again you will start second guessing everything.

I agree with Bullit in that my advice would be to leave things as they are and see how it goes as you get further into spring training.

If I was to recommend a slider to adjust, I would up the POWER slider by one notch and play at the very minimum, 10 games without making any additional changes and see if that doesn't help increase the homeruns numbers more to your liking.

I agree about leaving things alone. But one question, do you have the guess pitch function turned on? If so, I’d suggest turning it off. I’ve seen a number of people have similar issues and then when they turn it off, it’s much better.

Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

Yes I do,and I only turned it on as I assumed that it would increase the chance of driving a pitch out of the yard if guessed properly but usually leads to a loud out for me. May try turning it off and see what happens. I appreciate all the advice, everybody. I think I won't tinker around with sliders too much, maybe jump the power slider up one notch and if it causes the opposite problem I'll just put it back to how it was

As a fellow veteran level hitter my advice is that if you do get to the point where you are tuning sliders it should be the aforementioned 'power' and also 'solid hits'. Shouldn't need more than a +1 on either or both.

And as countryboy suggests do the power one only first.

Turn it off. HRs will improve. Also try josh change to contact at 6.

I also found that turning pitch guess to off made me a better hitter. I could see the ball better once I wasn't zoned in on trying to figure out what every pitch should be. I just went and followed my instincts. It has worked great.
