Do you use the Pitcher/Batter Analysis?

I've been asking SDS to move the Pitcher/Batter analysis screen back to the forefront and assigned to one of the D-Pad buttons (preferably the one that is currently assigned to quirks) as it is a vital tool that I rely heavily upon over the course of a game, and its annoying/cumbersome having to keep pausing the game and selecting it in the menu.

So I thought I would see just how used/popular this information is by asking the OS community if they use it. Granted we are but a drop in the bucket of the consumer base that plays the Show, but hey anything I can do to persuade SDS to move this back to the forefront I'm willing to try.

So do you use the Pitcher/Batter Analysis screen?

I occasionally use it but definitely not enough. I would use more often if it was easier to navigate to it though.

I’m always checking it. I’m particular curious to see what pitches I’m inducing swings and misses + chases on.

If you are talking about the batter L/R rating, preferred it when it was the current season batting avg.because we already get thar info from one of the other D-pad directives, so it's kind of redundent.

I don't but I would if it were easier to get to.

Re: Do you use the Pitcher/Batter Analysis?

I do AFTER my first time through the lineup. I use it primarily while hitting to tell me whether or not I'm being too aggressive and not seeing enough pitches. When I'm pitching, I'm just looking to see the # of each pitch thrown to make sure I don't get into a comfortable pattern the AI can figure out.

I do not. See the ball, hit the ball on offense. When pitching, mix it up and hit your spots. Keep it simple

No I'm talking about the Pitcher/Batter Analysis tool that is available under I believe the stats tab on the pause menu.

Re: Do you use the Pitcher/Batter Analysis?

Honestly, countryboy, you will not likely find a lot of people using it because batter / pitcher analysis is much better served over a period of time (typically longer than a single game). If more people played franchise/season modes, you'd have more people using it. I'd bet if you ask OOTP players the same question, you'd get a resounding yes from 95% of the player base.

The batter/pitcher analysis tool only applies to the game you’re currently playing

I understand that, I'm just saying it is a tool typically used across multiple at bats across multiple games, not in a single game.

Re: Do you use the Pitcher/Batter Analysis?

Dont have 19 have 18 but yes I do use it. After the first 3 innings I look at both batter and Picher. For my pitching I try to see what pitches I am using the most and what location and when I am using pitches for different counts and try to start mixing it up. So if I am throwing a lot of changeups when ahead in the count I may try to start throwing more fast balls or curveballs or something. I also look to see if the CPU is taking a lot of pitches or not. For CPU pitching I try to look and see what patterns they have been using in a way to try to now what pitch types and locations I may see on different counts. I also look to see if I am chasing a pitch type to much to try to focus on not chasing has much and look to see if I am taking enough pitches over all or not.

I usually check it out after the game but would probably use it during play if it was on the d-pad.

Voted no, but I do look at it occasionally. I'd definitely get better use of it if I could get that info to my phone (easily) and analyze it . There should be a Show app

That would be a great idea.
