Re: Have ya'll seen this video?
I understand the concerns and am not saying that I'm fine with gambling being pushed into my home, but at the same time, parents really need to be involved here. The headline about the kids spending 3000+ pounds sterling on FIFA is asinine. Set up parental controls on the console. Check the card. Watch your kids play. Heck, learn to play with them. We live in the world of online transactions, which also means we also live in the world of push notifications to your phone when a charge is incurred.
The game developers that are using these tactics are really filthy. Don't think I'm letting them off of the hook. But people have been trying for thousands of years to capitalize on human vices to get money and somehow every person in the world isn't a raging, you-know-what-crazed alcoholic who sits at the casino all day. (not sure of the filters here but you all know what I'm talking about).
I didn't watch and study the entire video from end to end, but anyone, and I mean anyone, that thinks buying anything with a "chance" of a payoff is going to actually pan out is fooling themselves. The house always wins. Parents absolutely have to teach kids about this kind of thing exactly when they teach them about gambling. It is no different than baseball cards, Pokemon cards, etc. I have several hundred Pokemon and baseball cards, and about 50 of them actually came from packs, almost none of them bought by me (stocking stuffers and such). My parents showed me that packs, while they can be fun every once in a while, are a bad investment.
As someone that will be a parent soon, I'm not expecting to be able to know everything. But "there is nothing new under the sun" is as true now as it was when it was written, and human vices, despite their many masks, are ultimately the same old things. I can't control whether they listen but I can control whether they hear. And you better believe they're going to hear."The designated hitter rule is like letting someone else take Wilt Chamberlain's free throws."

Re: Have ya'll seen this video?
Well, I was more concerned that they're actually trying to phase out offline modes and that most of their work goes into the "buffering system" because it is more profitable to have a game NOT determined by skill.
What's more is that everything gets pushed down on the priority list in favor of the "rigging" of the gameplay, thus we get these half baked games.
I mean, I don't really care if some fool wants to throw money at a rigged system. What's the saying? the lottery is a tax on stupid people? But, I'm tired of the same annoyances every year with these games. I'm down to 2 games now, NHL and MLBTS. I can't do it much longer. They're too stale too glitchy and too rotten.Comment

Re: Have ya'll seen this video?
I had considered linking that very video here, but thought it was too off-topic for this board.
I hope they don't lock this thread, though. This needs to be seen by EVERYONE.

The Show isn't going away from offline modes.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: Have ya'll seen this video?
Well, I'll say this: it used to be when NHL launched, or from about a month prior, these boards would be filled for 5 or 6 months. If you posted something, you'd get a response in minutes if not seconds. Now, it's less than half of what it used to be for a few weeks then it's like the same 5 or 6 guys trying to figure out sliders and a random newbie who wants to let EA know there game stinks.
It's not this sites fault, it's the manufactured direction these companies are trying to take there games. They've alienated a lot of people yet they're winning. Innovation doesn't need to be sold anymore because everyone satisfies their serotonin fix with a "sick pull".
"What's up guys, it's ya boy bla bla bla, just wanted to make this quick video to show ya these aaaamaaazing pulls." Is this why board play has remained awful for like 10 years?Comment

Re: Have ya'll seen this video?
Yeah, if there's any company that sounds like they could resist going full 2K, San Diego Studio is it.
I have no problem with the Diamond Dynasty mode itself, aside from the online requirement. I enjoy getting the cards--heck, my lineup is currently rated 86 overall, and I haven't spent a penny, nor will I ever.
My issue is with Stubs being purchasable with real money.
Now if only I could actually play some Conquest or whatever when my connection is acting up...Comment

Most of the old respectable breeds like Swami, JerseyBorn, and MrHuriicane are dying out. Jersey’s the only one I still watch.
I don’t know if it’s creepy or exploitative how these larger MUT and DD YouTubers are gearing their videos towards younger audiences. Most are just downright cringefests.Comment

This is an accurate representation of about 89% of Sports gamers on YouTube.

Gone is innovation, originality, and great experiences. Are we at the bottom yet or is this going to continue much longer? I really hope there's a leak or a story that can turn this around.Comment

Re: Have ya'll seen this video?
I guess we got ourselves a "swamp" here. The overlords and the bottom feeders are just sucking the life out of gaming and it's hitting the sports titles hard, IMO anyway.
