Why does the crowd go crazy on check swing appeals?

Anytime there's a check swing appeal it seems like the crowd gets on their feet and goes nuts, no matter which team or what the outcome is. But hit a home run and nobody really cares...

can you blame 'em? Homers are a dime a dozen now. What the Show fans are hoping for is a George Brett type , pine tar inspired moment where somebody gets ejected for arguing a checked swing. I'd buy that for a dollar

I don't know that I've ever noticed the crowd going crazy at a check swing appeal. I have noticed them getting excited over a homerun though.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(
