Re: 16 vs 17 vs 18 vs 19
Well, what kind of game do you want to play? If you're looking for an offline sim, they'll all have something that will ruin the game for you IMO. It's usually too much of "this" and/or not enough of "that".
If you're NOT obsessed with real world logic, then it doesn't really matter. 19 is probably the most polished, but some like the hitting before 17.
It's not really a well made game anymore. It's 85% about the online casino and 15% for offline modes. -

‘19 is the best of the 4.
RTTS is the deepest and the on field gameplay is the best of the series

Re: 16 vs 17 vs 18 vs 19
I always felt that '16 was the best game that they had put out. That is until '19 came along.
That being said. If you strip away all of the cosmetic stuff from '19 (Branding / commentary upgrades / Rpg elements from RTTS / UI) I think '16 still is the better overall game of Baseball. I certainly think the RTTS is better.
But the package as a whole? '19 is the far superior product and plays a great game of Baseball. The new animations, physics, commentary elements (yes I like Heidi) all blend together for a near perfect experience. For me at least.
Yes there are elements that I like better in '16 but for the first time this generation I have deleted all of the past games off of my HD and have not looked back. '19 will probably be my last game for a good bit. I am finally settling into my franchise, my own issues not the games. Without significant upgrades to offline Franchise I can happily stay right here and be perfectly content. In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

Re: 16 vs 17 vs 18 vs 19
16 is lower on my list personally because of framerate issues in some stadiums, not too unlike we had this year in 19 before many of them were fixed. It was the year before the series gained PS4 Pro support, and since then (with the exception of the launch of '19) that hasn't been an issue.
But 19 is my favorite, hands down.Comment

Re: 16 vs 17 vs 18 vs 19
I think on the field defensively 19 is the best it has ever been but not perfect. Mode wise for me it was 16. As far as hitting, 16 still has my vote. The hitting has been tinkered with so much the past 3 years I really feel they ruined it.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: 16 vs 17 vs 18 vs 19
I think the biggest thing I liked about moving from 16 to 17 was the player model eyes finally looked right. and I can still pop in either 16 or 17 for season mode, which 18 & 19 lack. I know zilch about RTTS so I cant speak to thatOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: 16 vs 17 vs 18 vs 19
I only play franchise personally so I don’t know about rtts but 17 just feels like it was tuned the best gameplay wise after all the patches , I didn’t like 18 until the last couple of patches but it is good now . 19 has some good but the base running really is horrible (I use auto) and other then the better defense I feel like the gameplay took a step backwards. I went back to 18 now and have been having more fun.Comment

Re: 16 vs 17 vs 18 vs 19
Probably not a concern to anyone but an Indians fan, but since your avatar is a Cavs logo, I'll mention it.
If you really like to have the Chief on the Indians' uniforms, you might want to buy 18 for cheap instead of 19. On the other hand, if you were happy to see the Chief banished, go with 19, since they removed him from all current & past jerseys.
I personally feel that 19 is at best a minor upgrade over 18. I've already turned off the new pre-pitch cameras. Fielding is the only thing I think is noticeably better in 19.Comment

Re: 16 vs 17 vs 18 vs 19
16 - for the Cubbies! Lol
I digress tho, ive put in some hours on 19.
If i ranked em imo itd be 19-16-18-17
I dont feel like theres too much of a difference, 19 feels pretty smooth to me. But I'm no pro either.

Re: 16 vs 17 vs 18 vs 19
1) 19
2) 18
3) 16
4) 17
18 and 19 to me really separated themselves from 17 and 16. Defensively, ball physics...it really came together on 19 big time. Best console baseball game i ever played. But I have said that about version of the Show since I started playing it (09). That says something.
19 is an absolute gem of a game. And 18 is not too far behind. Now Playing on PS5:
