    Franchise Budget Issues While Trading

I'm wondering if anyone has run into an issue like this:

I wanted to mimic the Zack Greinke trade. The Astros had $10 million in the Bank and they were banking $600K per week. Greinke makes $34 million per year and 3 of the prospects going the other way only totaled around $1 million.

The trade won't go through with the message: Trade can't be completed due to budgetary constraints.

So I purchase $20 million for the Astros budget. The bank now has $30 million...but the trade still won't go through. Same reason given.

Why? Why do we have these stupid per week totals? Who cares how much money I have per week in the game. Just tell me what the total team budget for the year and how much my team has left. Sigh...

Is there a work around for this?

The bank has no bearing on how much money you have to spend on players during the season. The bank will increase payroll for the upcoming season, but its never the entire amount, but rather a small portion.

To see how much budget your team has left, go to the HOME screen and scroll down til you see VIEW BUDGET. There it will show your PROJECTED REVENUE - TOTAL PAYROLL - BANK - REMAINING BUDGET.

That is how much money you have to spend on the likes of free agents and to use with trades.

Based that the Astros have 600K clear per week to spend, I'm guessing they'll have around $15M-$16M remaining budget available to spend.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

This is my entire franchise experience. Adding budget won’t help that will only help sign free agents.

What I do is release the traded player then have the new team claim him. Best fix I could find.

Thank you for the info, it still seems like an unnecessary hassle.

Happened to me as well to get Edwin Encarnacion to the Yankees, this got me so mad I traded them Jacobi to their team to get Edwin

Its kind of annoying because this basically serves as sort of a salary cap.

It's why I always have budgets off tbh, the system doesn't really allow you to give teams the financial wiggle room they really have.

I don't see anything that says remaining budget or 'total' payroll

i am also having trouble figuring out how much i have to spend on players.

okay i calculated my budget and i have 26 million to spend on players but i can't trade because of budgetary constraints even though the other team is dumping salary...

                    i don't get it.

Are you in season or are you in the off-season?

Just turn force trades on and be honest when trading
