please help me like this game hitting difficulties

I am 45 games into my franchise on Hall of Fame difficulty and I have only hit 2 home runs. I am trying to stick with this game but hitting seems way to hard for me. I don't know if its the camera angle I am using or what but I tend to always be late on my swings. I tried to play on All Star but then the game seemed too easy so I am kinda stuck in limbo here. I don't know what I can do to keep it on hall of game but make hitting a little easier. I use pure analog with stride for my batting, was pretty good in games past but not this year!

bump power slider to 6 or 7? That's where I would start.

The camera angle can make a big difference, I'd try changing it first. You could also try lowering the pitch speed sliders if you're constantly late.

There is also Dynamic Difficulty. There is a level between All Star and Hall of Fame.

This would be my recommendation as well.

Instead of altering sliders, I would set up Dynamic Difficulty and let the game help you find a good level for you.

If you think about it, the OP did say that he wants to stay on HOF if possible and if he changes difficulties then the CPU will use a different pitching strategy and his timing window etc will become slightly easier. On the other hand, he said that he's constantly late and the pitch speeds are faster this year on higher difficulties than in years past, so without altering the game mechanics, I think slowing the pitch speeds down a little bit might be a good place to start, but to each his own.

I understand what the OP said, I was just offering my recommendation. I'm not a fan of altering sliders and think that trying Dynamic Difficulty is an option of consideration because it prevents the user from altering sliders and wondering if they working and thus falling into slideritis.

Whether he chooses that path or chooses to try lowering pitch speeds or bumping/decreasing other sliders is up to him, and hopefully whatever he chooses helps him find the resolution he is looking for in order to make the game enjoyable for him.

Re: please help me like this game hitting difficulties

Pitches are a half step on the slider faster on HoF, so there is no way to replicate All-star speeds, and reducing the speed one step will make the pitches seem slower than All-star.

So the key this year is to find what difficulty you like the pitch speeds at, and then adjust around that.

Here are some breakdowns of the sliders:

Contact: effects invisible PCI size, ideal timing window (good timing), bat exit velocity floors.

Power: effects bat exit velocity ceilings.

Timing: effects the success rate of swings that do not have "good" timing (just early, early, etc). Also has a small impact on ideal timing as well.

Foul Frequency: effects the rates of fouls on grossly mistimed pitches. High vision batters will have this feature proc more. Turning it down to 0 will turn it off, and high vision batters will still have an easier time fouling a pitch due to the fact that they have a wider timing window.

Solid hits: had the most direct impact on launch angle ie: line drives and hard grounders vs choppers and popups.

You can use this information to make your own slider set, but if you're unsure what it is that's not working quite right, I suggest taking a look at other's slider sets. You don't have to copy them exactly, but it could help you make All-star more challenging.

                  There is,

Once the dynamic difficulty reaches allstar+ (or HOF+), set the dynamic difficulty slider to zero. That will lock you in at that level.

It's a pity you can't enter DD on a predetermined level, like All-Star+, instead of having to work up to it from rookie. But I suppose you can accelerate it to level up as fast as possible so it takes the least amount of time.

I’ve got slideritis bad this year. Never has been a problem in the past for me with this game, but for some reason I just can’t get it where I think it’s perfect like in Shows past

I'm trying to avoid that problem this year, but when I win a game I think it's too easy and when I lose too hard. It's taking discipline

I'm actually unsure in this case. An effect encompasses the entirety of the action ie "throwing a stone had a ripple effect" whereas an affect is an influence on the total effect ie "the ripples affected the waves".

I guess since min/maxing most of these sliders doesn't turn the feature off or make it work 100% of the time, affect is a safe assumption, but the devs could have just capped the effect to force it to be an affect. However, look at foul frequency. Turning it to 0 turns the feature off. Effect.
