Is there any proof that once their stamina drops, it affects their performance?

Re: Why are all my players on my franchise team always low on stamina?
Yeah, but it's not very specific (assuming you meant energy instead of stamina, as it relates to position players):
In addition I've heard the devs say the impact is very small in the past. Whether it's still that way or not, I couldn't say.
Generally I don't worry about position player energy until I get a pre-game popup telling me "this player is tired, you should rest him" (paraphrased). I assume it's at that point where the CPU management would rest one of their own players, so I do the same.Last edited by bcruise; 08-31-2019, 01:37 PM.Comment

Re: Why are all my players on my franchise team always low on stamina?
Yeah I meant energy. I also ignore my position players energy bar for the most part, even the pre-game popups. Many times I've had the pre-game popup telling me so and so is tired and I should rest him, I leave him in the lineup, and he proceeds to go 3 for 4, so....Comment

Re: Why are all my players on my franchise team always low on stamina?
This day and age, it's unlikely. Recently though, Hunter Pence did it for the Giants and Prince Fielder did it for the Brewers for multiple consecutive seasons. So even though it's a rare occurrence, those anomalies do exist.
I keep thinking of what kind of system they could put in place when it comes to short-term energy versus chronic fatigue. I don't think those are the right terms, but I hope that makes sense. Maybe somebody is burned from running out a triple, but they can play twelve games in a row. We endure those kinds of things in real life as well. Don't know how they would come up with it and decide who gets what, though.
Catchers these days seem to take a day off after 1-3 games, though. It's pretty crazy how that position has become. I imagine you could DH a catcher and call it an "off-day" if you're in the AL, but I don't know many teams that do that (or would want to, since their other DH is normally a better hitter than that catcher). Maybe SDS could at least look into that and see that catchers are greatly, greatly more affected than others.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Why are all my players on my franchise team always low on stamina?
I have no idea how the energy is really determined, but what they could do is base it off of general durability plus factor in how much action they see during the game on the field. If an outfielder never gets a ball hit in his direction they would basically just be standing there all game. If they stretch out a double or a triple that would naturally make you more tired than getting a single, also power swinging a lot would make you more tired than say a contact swing and factor in how many actual swings you took in general. Striking out looking would be just standing there doing nothing. I dunno, something like that.Comment

You know what? I'd be perfectly fine with that, if the energy meter mirrored their on field actions. Diving or jumping for balls, attempting steals, swinging for power, maxing out your throw meter, sliding into bases etc., all that should factor in how much stamina is drained. My DH seems to drain just as quickly as the energy for my SS who sees much more action. Instead it looks like they just take X amount of energy from each player that sees playing time in a game regardless of whether he plays all game or just pinch hits or comes in as a late game defensive replacement. Like I said, fantastic idea but poor execution.I have no idea how the energy is really determined, but what they could do is base it off of general durability plus factor in how much action they see during the game on the field. Re: Why are all my players on my franchise team always low on stamina?
One other issue with stamina for everyday players. If you give a regular a day off and use him to pinch hit it has a big impact on his recovery. The next day his energy bar will only be about 50 % instead of full bar if he doesn't appear in the game. A pinch hitting appearance shouldn't use much energyComment

Re: Why are all my players on my franchise team always low on stamina?
I was watching the Cleveland game yesterday I believe and they were speaking of Lindor's and Kipnis's playing over 150 per season...
it got me to thinking...
SDS needs to start putting ratings for players on average games played by season. barring any injury time...
durability ratings should be like this...
This, of course, would be on their prided 3-year cycle. as long as they did their duty and upgraded it every year...
Games played = rating)
150 161 = 100
149-140 = 99
139-130 = 98
139-120 = 97
119-110 = 96
109-100 = 95
99-90 = 94
89-80 = 93
79-70 = 92
69-60 = 91
59-50 = 90
49-40 = 89
39-30 = 88
29-20 = 87
19-10 = 86
10-0 = 85
This way even at these very high ratings you would rarely if ever get the annoying player fatigue pop up before games..."Baseball is life, without Baseball life itself ceases to exist." - Ken SpragueComment

Re: Why are all my players on my franchise team always low on stamina?
I had to restart my franchise a few weeks ago after accidentally deleting my save file and this time around the first thing I did was fire and hire my coaches with my focus being on durability and HR improvements. I can definitely tell a difference in how long my guys last before having to sit out and recover compared to beforehand.Comment

Cool about the coaches, but regarding the bold... you don't have auto-upload to cloud storage enabled for your save files?I had to restart my franchise a few weeks ago after accidentally deleting my save file and this time around the first thing I did was fire and hire my coaches with my focus being on durability and HR improvements. Re: Why are all my players on my franchise team always low on stamina?
I had been manually saving to the hard drive. I didn't know I could upload to the cloud until recently. I thought you had to pay for PS online in order to do that. Now I'm saving to the HDD, making a backup on a USB after every game and uploading the save to the cloud just to be sure I don't goof up again.Comment

You're right, I naturally assumed you had PS Plus.I had been manually saving to the hard drive. I didn't know I could upload to the cloud until recently. I thought you had to pay for PS online in order to do that. Now I'm saving to the HDD, making a backup on a USB after every game and uploading the save to the cloud just to be sure I don't goof up again.
However, since a fateful day that I literally completed 100% on GTA III (the game froze upon saving and the file corrupted), I now always have multiple save files for every game. I only save it once in those files so the others roll more so back-back in case something self-corrupted around then, but I'll have 3-10 save files for all of my games (I think I have like twelve for RDR 2).
This plus the auto-uploads kind of ensure I don't have one of these concerns ever again.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
