A ton of time on March to October as you said which is what they came up with after attempting to upgrade franchise mode, which lets be honest, they didn't do, plus DD which is their bread and butter where 90+% of their time is spent, plus RTTS upgrades doesn't leave a lot of time for much else does it? Here's something you can take to the bank, in comparison to everything else , every year without question, their primary focus will be on DD, and sadly that's a fact.

Re: Heidi Watney... More like Why-di Watney
from what I'm reading here is that I may be the ONLY one playing this game that has NO PROBLEM with this feature at all.
I don't know how many of you are aware that recently SDS has changed their ogo and been put into a much larger studio. however, it is not sure since they did this for what I have read and heard for a new IP to come out fo that studio.
I'm hoping that this also means that the team for this IP will be growing as well so that we may see some more additions/expansion to this mode...
if you guys continue to throw mud at the dev team for this kind of stuff it just says to them that we don't appreciate what they are doing. which in turn could cost us franchise players more in the future..."Baseball is life, without Baseball life itself ceases to exist." - Ken SpragueComment

Re: Heidi Watney... More like Why-di Watney
The only thing I don't like about her just as with the commentary in general is the lack of diversity in dialogue. It would be a cool feature if it wasn't so repetitive.Comment

Re: Heidi Watney... More like Why-di Watney
They should also give her injury update duties instead of some random text on screen. There's a lot of records and milestones in baseball and they could throw some of that dialog to her as well. Having her segments randomly throughout the game also would help break up the repetitiveness.Last edited by jrnlgrn; 09-16-2019, 12:07 AM."Listen son, you only have enough runs when you’re showering after a win."Comment

Re: Heidi Watney... More like Why-di Watney
I know it’s low hanging fruit to get mad at virtua-Heidi, but holy hell man they really couldn’t have her record more lines? Never mind that sideline reports are the worst part about mlb broadcasts, but if there’s nothing to talk about why force it down our throats?
Just played a game and had a no hitter through 7.... Bottom of the 6th “I had a chance to catch up on the state of the Braves offense... and overall he’sh really happy at their approach at the plate” then talks about how they’ve had six full counts. Imagine a manager telling a reporter in the sixth inning that he’s really happy that his team was getting no hit because they worked six full counts lol. I mean come on!Comment

The recorded lines ARE a bit repetitive, but that's true of commentary for all sports games (heck, it's true of commentary for real life sports broadcasts sometimes). But I think that Heidi could be a major key to the growth of franchise mode. Franchise mode isn't in the menu screens - it's in-game. They need to massively expand her role as a conduit to provide us with information of the happenings around the league. We shouldn't have to go to some sterile menu screen outside of the game for that, she can tell us about the latest trade rumors or injuries, etc. going on around the league while playing the game. I actually love that they pull in-game data for her blurbs and I see no reason why they can't expand on that in the future. I'm hoping that they can get her to record the player name database for next year's game - that could open-up a lot commentary possibilities for her.
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Side note: remember when we used to be able to change the volume of individual announcers? That was nice. Now I just have to watch Heidi awkwardly mouth silently into a microphone in an unskippable cutscene because I find Dan and DeRo make me see red. Never even knew she was repetitive, I never gave her the chance.
Wanna know the most annoying thing about turning off the announcers is though? It also turns off the recordings of baseball calls from last year. Boneheaded, but I refuse to change it back. Dan and DeRo are that bad.

I don’t listen to any of them. Matt needs to be gone, Plesac needs to SHUT UP! Geez, balls in play and he’s still rambling, Dero is just annoying and Heidi....at least let us skip her. Less would actually be good, but what do I know.Comment

Re: Heidi Watney... More like Why-di Watney
I neither adore it nor have a problem with it. I do question how finite their resources become eventually if they throw in the development time and memory to fit her lines into there (not like it's a world of storage being taken up, but you know what I mean). I do think it was about time to have sideline reporter representation in this game, but I'm also hoping to get a two-man booth of Matty V. and Smoltz someday soon.

This - give me the option to button through and still listen to her. To have to sit and watch her talk for 10-15 seconds multiple times per game is frustrating.Comment

It may be known, but once she's off the screen you can press X to bypass. She'll keep talking but it will get you back to gameplay.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: Heidi Watney... More like Why-di Watney
Yea but it takes too long to get to that point... Especially since the part at the beginning is the most repetitive part. I think it just speaks to the larger issue of certain cut scenes that can’t be skipped through, for example the ridiculous intentional walk cutscene where the guy holds up four fingers over and over or the challenging a play at first cut scene where the guys have to basically yell at their bench coach with their thumbs up. It makes me dread when a play is close at first lolComment

One of the reasons I play with the broadcasters muted and just enjoy the sounds of being at the ballpark. I’d rather have a pointless cut scene for a few seconds than listen to any of them lolComment

You're forgetting the Heidi Fleiss Hollywood Madam scandal from the 90s. Also, if you're referring to the infamous Heidi Bowl NFL game, that was not Monday Night Football. It was an NBC televised game on a Sunday evening.Last edited by SolidSnake07; 10-03-2019, 02:41 PM.Comment
