How to steal in RTTS help please

Brand new MLB the show player. Can somebody please explain what buttons to hit and when while attempting to steal 2B with my RTTS player?
I’ve been thrown out every time not to mention every throw has been right on the money.

L2 steals, I usually try to slide headfirst and towards the back of the bag (which is “up” and to the “right” on the right analog stick)

What are your speed and base stealing attributes? It could be that your created player needs to build those up in order to be successful stealing.

Here is how I do it.

Always take a 1 step lead. Always hold the left stick to the left and down just a little bit. This way your guy will automatically go back on a pick off. This also puts you close to the up and lessens your time to go.

This allows you to focus on the pitcher. Then you can pretty much steal on any pitch that the pitcher does a full wind up. If you go and he slide steps just go back as soon as you can. It is cheesy....but it works.

Unless you guy is slow...in which case don't steal....lol

Speed and attributes are bad. Speed is 50 and stealing is 40...didn't realize they were that bad.

If you focus your training goals on base running stuff, eventually you’ll get your attributes to a reasonable level that you can steal successfully.
