yeah, I think perfect-perfect could go along way to get Padgoi excited about the Show again. on the other hand it could make things less interesting for those truly blessed with stick-skills. I mean, does anyone really want a team full of .400 hitters? careful what you ask for, you just may very well get it. Sony gonna have to walk a fine line with perfect-perfect.

I wouldn't say I'm not excited, I always get a little excited in anticipation of the new game coming out. With that said, someone said it best before, this perfect-perfect function shouldn't just be a boost or an increase in hit success, more so, it should simply affect the velocity at which the ball is hit. There are many subtleties involved in perfect contact, such as launch angle. If you're a touch under it (good for launch angle), is it still considered perfect-perfect? How about a little above it - will it still result in a hard hit grounder? They can't sacrifice ball physics for a fabricated boost in hit success.

I do however think that the success of getting perfect-perfect will rely on pitch speed. If you see yourself getting too much perfect contact, I'd imagine an uptick in the pitch speed slider could go a long way with alleviating that.

That is just it, the competitive crowd wants to hit .400 and really are only focused on the success side of baseball. They are not interested in the ebb and flow of the sport where failure should be a component of the game.

Hopefully the stream sheds enough light on the subject and it is something that adds quality to the game and not just enabling a crowd with a loud voice.

Based on what I'm seeing, this perfect-perfect function seems to result in a hit like... 100% of the time. As you said, all this does is appease the arcade crowd who wants to hit .400. I've been saying for years, I just want realistic ball physics and to be honest, I've yet to see that in any iteration of this game.

I'm under the impression that Perfect-Perfect will not result in a hit 100% of the time based of Sony's own wording for Thursday's stream:

Perfect Timing & Perfect PCI Placement Guarantees Peak Player Performance

It's been drilled into everyone's heads over the past several years, that this is a baseball sim, and that in no way will anyone ever be guaranteed a hit. Remember.... round ball, round bat....
