Are they built in to each player randomly? Or does that not really exist.....

I have a theory that it is pre determined, if you see Trout get off to a 0-42 start you can bet he would hit 500 for the next month so the ratings would be accurate. I have never seen a high rated player that is user controlled or even sim controlled have a terrible year by his rating -

I've seen several and have several happening now in my current season. I've also seen guys with low ratings have outstanding seasons.I have a theory that it is pre determined, if you see Trout get off to a 0-42 start you can bet he would hit 500 for the next month so the ratings would be accurate.I have never seen a high rated player that is user controlled or even sim controlled have a terrible year by his rating
I'll post pics when I get home tonight.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: Hot and Cold Streaks
Interesting responses. So there is logic built in for hot and cold streaks? I mean for user controlled players I play with every game, they go through periods where nothing works. And then their on fire for 2 weeks. I wondered if every player had that built in,
or if players had variations of it, like player A hits better late in the year, player B hits better early in the year. etc etc....JUUUUUUUST A BIT OUTSIDEComment

Re: Hot and Cold Streaks
I try and Play every single game of the season, every at bat with all 32 teams.. yes every game! It can take a week to get past 2 days, so I bet not many people are crazy like me that do this and can see pattens in the game where every stat was played out by me. I’ve seen low rated guys have insane starts to the season hitting 500 but then they go back to normal. Yes very much like real life. But I believe you can’t ever hit over 400 with anyone in the game no matter how good you are at hitting because hot fond steaks are ore determined. Same with pitchers just wait for a low rated pitcher to have a terrible few games to even the stats to normal,Originally posted by StateoftheFranchisepre-determined? that's ridiculous
If you played the game with everyone with 99 overall rated stats nobody would still hit 400
I think if you purposely used Trout and swang and missed on purpose to strikeout every time and get off to a 0-100 start and simmed the rest of the season the game would fix those stats to still make him hit 305 by the end of the year.
Just a theory of mine not saying it's correct.Last edited by ninertravel; 02-04-2020, 06:38 PM.Comment

that can be easily accomplished if you are playing beneath your skill level. conversely, if you are barely good enough to compete on, say Veteran level, if you play with Mike Trout on Legend, I'd be astonished if you hit more than .200 or 10 homers in a season. or won even 1 game, for that matterOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23
