Really hope that’s not the case. I don’t know about for others but for me that would kill almost all the excitement for relocation and rebranding this year. What’s the point if your stuck in a real MLB stadium with its original team logos? I guess it’s better then nothing but that would be a shame if they are putting it in so basic and unfinished.

With The Show gameplay streams starting in just a few days, there has been a lot of talk about Franchise Relocation coming to MLB The Show 20. And although it is no longer a rumor of whether it will be in the game or not, there are still a lot of questions yet to be answered on the depths of this new option coming to the game.

A lot of people are curious of how much freedom we will get with jersey and logo customization, as well as if there will be any limitations to where we can and can't relocate. However the one thing I am most curious about is stadiums.

Some people think that a Create-a-Stadium mode is asking for too much in this year game. Which it kinda is. But personally I would find it a real let down if we didn't get some kind of new stadiums in this years game. What is the point of getting to change your team's name and location if the game will just stick you in a minor league or classic stadium. Relocated Franchise games would feel a lot like DD games.

I am definitely not expecting some elaborate, state of the art Stadium developer mode for MLB20. I'm expecting them to let us choose between 2-4 pre-made generic looking MLB stadiums for our newly made teams to play in. A fully developed Stadium Creator mode sounds more like something we will see on PS5 titles.

In a past year during a live stream the developers indicated if create-a-stadium was in the game it would have been hyped from the beginning. Highly unlikely it is in the game.

There are dozens of classic stadiums or created minor league stadiums. My guess is we won't be limited to 2-4 generic stadiums. They have taken the time to create all those additional stadiums.

Its true, its just no one there (scea) will listen when you tell them their other ballparks so far pretty bland, (in other words [emoji90])

Fine for minor leagues and rtts but thats about it... Hopefully they dont try and take the minor league ballparks and extend them with more seating etc. Fingers crossed for what they did in all star baseball.

There are 3 very playable classic stadiums. Shea, Old Miami and Old Atlanta. For me the classic stadiums are all a bit quirky whereas the 3 I mentioned play relatively neutral with modern day dimensions.

I think the biggest problem with a stadium creator option is the possible framerate horrors and disappearing balls in corners/walls that could happen in certain created stadiums. SCEA sometimes even has to optimize their own built ballparks in a patch to improve the framerate or weird things happening to balls.

Maybe the power of thr PS5 could tackle this when you keep the options basic but I think it’s waaaay harder to get this right then we think.

I'm not sure if they have fixed it but when they first released Forbes you could go to replay and leave the park and "drive" around the outside of the ballpark. It was actually pretty cool.

I don't use Forbes because the version they chose to use is extremely pitcher friendly.

just guessing but I'd think you'll be able to rebrand immediately. I'm also guessing no realignment because of scheduling difficulties.

One thing I've always wanted in football or baseball games is the ability for the stadium to evolve and devolve/deteriorate. Such as, if you win a world series maybe you get to add a new section of seats to the stadium or new suites. If your team does poorly you gotta sell seats to advertisers and see in-game those seats covered with their ad. Those are just quick examples but it could get more involved with like upgraded exterior look and stadium lights etc...

One team takes the schedule of the team swapped, as it always does in games that allow realignment. What difficulties?

the Studio always has scheduling difficulties lol nothing is ever as easy as it should be for SDS when it comes to schedules
