Observations:

More improvement on making fielder ratings matter even more. More refined inaccurate paths to fly balls. This applies to the CPU as well

Catcher blocking looks a lot better and more ratings specific. You can tell the difference in the animations for excellent block ratings vs average and below average.

CPU base runners will be a lot more aggressive against weak arm OF's.

Tagging at second and home do not have that hitch anymore in the animations. Once the fielder catches the ball the tag animations begins and branches smooth as butter. It is a big improvement.

Great stream highlighting new defensive gameplay, animations, catcher blocked balls system, outfielder and infielder defense and ratings matter more (along with user skills).

Yeah! I saw that too. Pretty sure it's Chick-fil-A, but my stream was not fully maximized on my desktop at work to see super clearly.

As a manage mode player I never know for sure how these changes will impact the game until I put the disc in the ps4 and see for myself.

No question these are major changes for people who "joystick" the game and I suspect also for manage mode.

I question regarding the new defensive changes is at what level the various defensive attributes change from poor/average/great.

0-50 poor
50-70 average
70 - 99 great
??????

It appears you will need a catcher with great blocking to avoid having wild pitches galore.

I am very happy to hear that because I am very tired of seeing the CPU hit balls into the left and right corners and not even trying for an extra base hit.

I hope this is not just how air talk and we really will see a nice improvement in this area!

The catcher blocking updates and the new animation for tags is the two biggest takeaways for me from this stream.

Really enjoyed the stream. Was hoping they would say if the cpu will get perfect throws all the time.

Check out the schedule at the end. Doesn’t mention franchise mode on 2/13 so we might want to temper any expectations.
