It’s exactly what they said it was. Will hold out for Thursday’s stream to pass judgement.

If so, it's still not relocation but I'd be happy to start with that, That's the only thing that would make me drop my 4 year NYY franchise (I play every single pitch!) since I'm French Canadian
You can already play home games in any stadium you want. Current, classic or created.

You can take a logo and switch name. Go to DD and check it out. You have to finish the tutorial first which takes about 10 minutes.

I am pumped for tomorrows stream. The reason?

        Bacons Fictional Roster.

If we do 30 team control and have the ability to create 30 custom teams?

The immersion can be off the hook for a Fictional Franchise this year.

As far as real life teams? I can see doing a rebranded Miami franchise easy.

While I'm pleased about the new additions concerning team editing, the real question on my mind is whether I'll finally be able to bunt one over the fence this year. Each year I get closer than the year before. Let's hope they paid some more attention to this, so we can finally see some bunt homers.

This is what I was thinking as well!! If this is possible?! Man this could really change things going forward.

Real world franchise gameplay? I would like to move Oakland to Virginia. But I don't know if we would be able to re align divisions?

One thing that I have not seen mentioned. With this "Re Branding" and "Re Locating" will we be able to edit schedules or maybe finally have rotating schedules? I would think if we can move teams around some kind of schedule editing would almost be required?

My hope is that can be developed in the future.

For now let’s see what stadium options we have as far as generics. And also we have all those minor league fictional stadiums to use too. That can give a small town feel to a lot of rebranded teams and then you can have big city teams.

Using our imaginations we can have some serious fun and a totally fresh franchise experience using fictional rosters and rebranding.

They need to open up the uniform slots in my opinion. 2 uniforms just isn't going to cut it in this day and age, but so far it is a start with a ton of possibilities.

I understand why baseball create-a-stadium would happen last of all the major sports since the dimensions and stuff actually change place to place so it's not as straight forward to make a generic stadium creator as well.
Pretty much this. They touched on this a few years ago in the Presentation stream (I want to say for 17 or 18). They want nothing more than to add it to the game, but it's become a lot more difficult. The two main presentation guys said that in the old systems, it was easier because there wasn't much "building" of the stadium, it was just 2D assets.

Now everything is 3D with different textures painted on, lighting, depth, and more that they'd have to both build into the game. So you'd have to build in and allow customization for every possible stadium scenario. Even if they give you 5 different types of stand for each section of the stadium (home plate, 1st base, 3rd base, LF, CF, RF), all of that would have to be built and coded in for every possible scenario in 3D.

I think they'll get it in next gen when the system allows for more power to do so, but they've talked about eventually putting it in the game when they can do it right and not half *** it like they could get away with for PS2 and PS3.

I think you are gonna be in luck.. looking at the team screen where we pick our teams and users.. Marlins are not selected as USER and you can replace them with custom team by pressing R1. Cannot guarantee this, but it seems like it would be highly likely that since its not tied to user selection, you could replace them all.

To build on this, people tend to forget when mentioning "but MVP had stadium creator on the PS2!" is that theres a few things: They had it in NCAA 06 and 07 but think back: they didnt have stands beyond the outfield walls (which is to be expected of most NCAA stadiums). So if you adjust the dimensions you dont have to worry about moving stands beyond the wall. With stands getting moved, you have potential clipping issues.

The one in MVP 05 was very basic. If I remember correctly there were 4 maybe 5 different layouts you could choose from. And then the stands just get built from there. There wasnt actually that much customization, not like some people think there was. (I think seat color and grass cut were about all I can remember, maybe little decorations around the park? Been a while since I played 05).

Bear in mind, I love MVP 05 and the two NCAA games. They're still some of my all time favs, but people put them on a pedestal too much sometimes. Maybe its nostalgia. Who knows.

Now obviously there probably wont be any stadium customization this year (but maybe I'll be wrong with the stream tomorrow. I doubt it though), but like you said, making stuff "customizable" is way harder than it was back on the PS2. But I wont go on about stuff that's already been said.

Me personally, I'm excited and think this is a good first step. I imagine they have to be saving a create-a-stadium feature for the next gen, possibly even 21 when the game goes multiplat, because that will be a big selling feature. Could go later for the next year as a reason for people to get 22, because Xbox and Switch players have been waiting for a full baseball sim. Hopefully extra sales from Xbox and Switch should hopefully justify Sony giving them a bigger team to work with and get more done year to year.

Since it doesn’t look like they’re going to add in Olympic Stadium anytime soon, I really hope there’s a generic domed/indoor stadium to use for relocation or just to stick the Nats in with historical rosters

This looks like it's going to be fun. Yes, it may be bare bone to start for this year but as long as they expand on it with full relocation/expansion options on the next Gen Consoles they can have just as good as a relocation/expansion feature as NBA 2K.

I'm not holding out hope or anything but it would be nice if division/conference realignment was announced tomorrow in the stream or patched in at some point this year. More of a wishlist item for sure when it comes to MLB The Show 21 but will be fun to mess with in terms of classic rosters and classic teams.
