Sign Stealing Mechanic?
Will this ever be in the game? Feel like its a big part of baseball. Not talking Astros lvl sign stealing, but a in game mechanic when you have a guy on base.Tags: None -
Re: Sign Stealing Mechanic?
I’m not sure MLB will be in a hurry to give the nod to a sign stealing feature. -

Much like helmets popping off, concussion injuries, and players getting carted off in madden.Comment

Re: Sign Stealing Mechanic?
Maybe if all this wouldn't have happened? Think it could have been similar to the guess pitch mechanic in the game. Like the zone would flash or something similar.Comment

Re: Sign Stealing Mechanic?
My biggest weakness when batting at the MLB level in this game is that I am notoriously swinging too soon on off speed pitches. I always thought that it was me, that I only needed to practice more. But now I see all that I need to do is fire up a copy of MLBTS 17 through 19 and make sure I am playing for the Houston Astros.
Problem solved.Comment

This where something like the kinect could be really handy. Could use your own garbage can at home.

Re: Sign Stealing Mechanic?
I just wish all players would quit sign stealing from electronic down to the old-fashioned way and just rely on their own natural abilities. I think this is the slippery slope Houston fell off of. the culture is so ingrained that sign stealing is okay, it really is a gateway drug to other less ethical behaviours. just my $2.OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: Sign Stealing Mechanic?
I realise everybody does it so you'd put yourself in a hole if you didn't do it too but I would just prefer it be pitcher vs batter and let those chips fall where they may. I'd like to know what batters think about their teammate baserunner who misreads the signs and gives that batter bad info. its just a matter of trying to get too cute and too slick for my personal taste. I'd be much more interested in seeing a batter get on base from his talent or the pitchers lack thereof and not on how good you are at stealing signs. but the genie got out of that bottle over a hundred years ago and we're too far down the rabbit hole to get out now. Houston is the first team to fall off that slippery slope and despite the Commissioner thinking he's permanently fixed the problem eventually someone else will come along and fall off too, thinking they found a loophole to skirt the spirit of sportsmanship. so I'm glad this is one aspect I dont ever expect too see replicated in the Show. I expect to be in the uncommon opinion on this but that's okay, I much prefer that to being included in today's moral norms.OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

You’d think that with all the technology, they’d find an easier way for a pitcher and catcher to communicate without using hand signalsComment
