With live roasters and this being an online mode could this mean that the rosters will update within your league according to what is happening in real life? Or is it just using the latest live roster when you start your leagueComment

They haven’t showed those things so they may well not be there. But there’s also no concrete evidence that none of those things are in to completely dismiss them as absent.

Look at the bare menus. They are not there.Comment

That’s beyond a little disappointing. The ability to use custom rosters was the MAIN thing that drew my friends and I to Online Franchise back in the day. Not including that just means we won’t even touch the mode in all likelihood. Huge disappointment.PSN: MrMet2488

What I want is a custom experience for my offline, single player franchise. I want to be able to realign MLB into whatever I want it to look like, sort of like we were able to do with NCAA football. If they can do this, then why not that?Anyone who claims to be a fan of two teams in the same pro sport is actually a fan of none.Comment

So the only two options for rosters are MLB Live and DD? That kinda stings.
Trades are confirmed now, but I’m thinking that’s the only kind of management that there is going to be.
A bunch of people on twitter screaming online franchise back is going to be disappointed I think.
I'm reading twitter and just laughing right now - you know it's going to be the same people screaming that online franchise is back that will turn around later in the week and accuse SDS of "lying" about bringing it back.
All that aside, the idea of DD league with friends is pretty interesting. A few years back some of us here on OS organized one through the play with friends options, but having a league structure for it (and apparently being able to set requirements for the teams) has my attention.

Agree with this take. At this point I'd be really surprised if there are any financials in the mode, but I'm hoping for at least some progression (and a draft/retirements to go with it). I could see it being a thing where players are just static and don't progress or regress, especially in the DD league mode where that almost HAS to be the case given the nature of team building in that.

I feel that if they were bringing online franchise back they would just say so so this makes me think this is more of a online DD gimmicky thing. Especially when the ad has them talking with Javier Baez. I can't see them bringing in an MLB player, even the cover athlete, just to bring back online franchise.Funkycorm

I am glad we finally have an outlet back for online leagues. It may not have everything we want but it is a start. The only thing that is a real bummer so far is the absence of custom rosters. Using historical rosters were fun. Looking forward to all the details.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

I haven't had a chance to look at the screenshots. Are there injuries in this mode?

I'm already talking with a few friends about doing this because this seems right up our alley in terms of what we want out of a league.I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). Nice to see that many around here have their expectations in check somewhat. I kept seeing comments elsewhere about Online Franchise being back and could not help to shake my head as I know they will all be disappointed after the stream.
If it was online franchise they would label it online franchise as they know that it would bring people back.Comment

They were very careful not to reveal any league setup particulars. Hoping you can have the whole MLB represented.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment
