Ok. I don't watch the streams cuz they don't talk about anything I'm interested in, so if they mentioned it in a 10 second span, fine.

However, someone said he had met the requirements stated here and it didn't work so I don't know.

So you accuse them of not mentioning it and you don’t even watch the streams

Yep par for the course these days.

Hasn't worked that way for me. I even tried to see how many 2 way players and pitchers I could get on the 26 man roster. My testing let me have up to 3 extra pitchers using 2 way players to expand the 13 pitcher limit.

I had Ohtani, McKay, Lorenzen, and Cronenworth all get 2 way status. The game wigs out if you don't have at least 10 position players on the 26 man roster.

So do you have to play a player at an actual position or can you play him at DH to get the 2 way status?

Also what does the 2 way status actually do? When it comes to how the AI sets their lineups, and if their 2 way does their hitting ratings improve with development?

It allows you to have extra pitchers on your team. It doesn't do much for the CPU because they will insert any pitcher with better hitting attributes than the starting DH into the lineup. They're hitting does develop once they achieve two-way status, but I'm not sure it directly correlates; you need x amount of at-bats for hitting to advance/regress anyway, so that may just be a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I warn you and anyone else reading that wants to experiment with two-way players across their franchise: they're completely busted. If the guy is a starter he's virtually guaranteed to have an ERA over 5. If he's in the bullpen, then he'll never pitch. This is with both TrueSim and Bacon's rosters. You have to meticulously babysit them, play or sim. It's still fun to toy around with, but toy too much and it will ruin your franchise.

They really need to add a "Rick Ankiel" option to just hit full-time. There's a guy in one of my franchises who just went 30/30/30; HRs, steals, and HRs allowed. He should never be allowed to step foot on a mound again.

Cant believe its been 3 years and they cant figure out how to fix this yet. How can we not use Ohtani in a regular lineup in franchise mode? Yes I know you can swap him out before each game but we should be able to add him into the lineup and he shouldn't be so tired after 2 games in the field that he has to rest fro 4 games just to pitch.

One thing that really bugs me is that since Ohtani is basically a P in the game, his offensive stats don’t show with the position players. So, you could insert him in the lineup every day, he could hit 50 HR and he wouldn’t be listed with the HR leaders.

That's weird. I have a reliever I'm using as a 2 way player and he shows up in the league leaders for triples for me.

I’ll have to go back and check. He wasn’t listed with the Angels hitters so I assumed he wouldn’t be listed with the league leaders.

It's getting closer each year though at least! Lol. This year isn't perfect, but it's much better than last year.

2nd thing is angels can only have a 25 man roster because it won’t let you have 14 pitchers because the game doesn’t count him as a position player only pitcher so he has to sit in rotation or BP

So once again a 3rd year it’s broke and we have to much around to send players down and up to get ohtani at bats to be used right

Only thing they changed was that you can pick pitcher at the lineup screen but hit save him in a lineup

So it’s broken doesn’t work how it should

Not only is it broken in that sense, it’s broken in the sense that their pitching stats take a MASSIVE blow because they’re always gassed from DH-ing if you don’t carefully manage your lineups throughout a season. Ohtani’s ERA is in the 6.00-7’s every year but he hits like 25 bombs and 80 RBI. Completely broken.

I just wish they would let us manually switch Ohtani and others to a hitter permanently. We can't I just make Ohtani a dedicated RF? Or Brandon McKay a 1B?

I've taken to just making Ohtani a RP/CP so that he doesn't get as gassed to pitch and get tagged for a 6 ERA every season (despite having an 88 rating as a SP).
