Nope, that's where "no decisions" come in. Basically, if a pitcher left the game in line for a win, but the team gives up the lead after he leaves, that pitcher is credited neither with a win nor a loss. Same if a pitcher is losing, but his team ties the game after he leaves. No decisions aren't really a tracked stat, they are just basically what they say they are - neither a win nor a loss.

There are some specific rules for pitchers who leave runners on base as they leave - runners on base when a pitcher leaves are counted as going against the departing pitcher, and that can have an effect on what the pitcher will be credited with (win, loss, or no decision).

A starting pitcher must pitch at least five innings with a lead to get the win. If he pitches less than five but the team led throughout the game, the win is awarded to any pitcher at the discretion of the statistician. If the pitcher gave up the go-ahead run, then they will be awarded with a loss regardless of innings pitched.
If a reliever comes in while his team is tied or trailing and his team takes the lead the next half inning, he will be awarded the win as long as the team holds the lead.

What's with the "Beat X Team on All-Star CPU" not unlocking in DD when completed?

Beat the Yankees twice on All-Star, once at Home and once Away, and neither unlocked the mission and 8 points towards the Granderson card.

Also, when people say a team traded a ‘lottery ticket’, do they mean a literal lottery ticket (that would have something to do with the draft I would assume) or do they mean a player whose future is uncertain?

I'm actually not quite sure what you're referring to, so I'd assume the latter.

The free agent rules used to be a lot more complicated, with A and B class free agents. You used to be able to trade for a B class agent, and then if they signed with another team you got a compensation pick in the later rounds, but that rule is gone now, both in real life and in game.

I’m playing with pitch counts set to on. When pitching, I like it when the catcher frames up, and his glove icon is displayed giving me somewhere to aim.

But the icon doesn’t appear in between batters. Is there a way to change this?

I booted up the game to help me understand what the problem is here - correct me if I'm still misunderstanding something.

By "pitch counts" on I'm assuming you mean Quick Counts? And the issue is that the glove icon (Adaptive Pitching Intelligence or "API") doesn't show up on the first shown pitch of an at-bat?

That's...unusual because it isn't the case for me, and that's why I feel like I might be misunderstanding something. But I can tell you that as long as API is enabled - which it is, otherwise you wouldn't be seeing the glove at all - pressing R2 with the pitch select box up will display it and the pitch suggestion (along with an animation of the pitcher wanting the catcher to repeat the signs and the catcher obliging).

Edit: Another thought - is the reason you can't see the glove graphic because you're getting some of those cinematic camera angles in-between pitches? That's a new thing this year and I forgot about it. Those can be turned off or set to only show while you're batting, IIRC.

Yes, Quick Counts, sorry for the confusion!

I tried both API set to “On” and well as “Default”. I’m getting the same result.

You’re right about the cinematic camera, that’s what triggers it. I do like having it on though, so I guess that’s the culprit. Not getting the glove icon happens for me when the camera cuts to that view (where the pitch selection appears along the bottom of the screen).

And when I press R2, I don’t get the glove icon (I’m assuming that’s what you meant?). Only the location of the previous pitch.

Ah, I thought that was it. Yeah, as far as the cinematic cameras go disregard what I said about R2, they don't show up in those views even if you press it. Unfortunately it's going to be an "either or" on using those cameras while pitching. Depending on what camera it picks, sometimes you wouldn't even be able to see the glove overlay anyway.

The option to control when those cameras play is under Options > Presentation > Pre-Pitch Cameras. Setting it to "Hitting only" will ensure that the cameras never interrupt API, while still showing them while you're at the plate. Unfortunately that's about all you can do.

Someone in the trade thread posted this, for example: ‘ Finally, I had to use a deal similar to the Machado and Betts deals for the Dodgers which would return a headliner prospect in the 30-50 range, a 2nd prospect in the 70-100 range, and a lotto ticket’

Is anyone seeing injuries on played games? I'm over 250 games in and on second season. The first season I played I had the injury slider at 6 and saw realistic injury totals. I started season 2 around the time of a patch and have yet to see an injury in a played game. I even maxed injury slider.

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

You are a very lucky person. I've never had my injury slider off default and this year I got all sorts of injuries, most of which happened during a played game.

I've got most of my players back, but I still have a Starting pitcher out for the season from an ugly defensive play, and my starting first baseman is out with a sprained wrist from sliding back into first from a pickoff attempt.

Are you on the same season you started on mlb 20? Just trying to remove variables. Like I said the first season this year I had to move slider down because of all the long term injuries.

                                Season 2 nothing....45 games in.
