Re: MLB The Show 20 - The Little Things

One thing I meant to mention earlier is how on the Show Theme (don't remember seeing in on MLB Network theme), in the stats/notables box, when showing season stats, it will identify if a particular stat is a career high for a player.

Really loving the stats and information that is presented this year during batter walkups.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

It's in small type and on the screen briefly, so I've come to train myself to look at the scorebug after each pitch to see what pops up.
This on the MLB the Show scorebug (lower right corner). I've noticed this either doesn't happen or it's much less frequent in games that use the MLB Network scorebug (upper left corner).
I also like how intuitive the stat overlays are. Hit a triple and they showed the league triples leaders. Was playing as the Indians and they showed teams with the fewest HRs (they were second to last).
Mallex Smith stole a base against me in Franchise. I was expecting a post play graphic showing his current SBs on the year..nothing. Next batter at plate takes a pitch. After pitch, stat overlay shows Mallex Smith (2nd Base..meaning on 2B) 82% steal percentage.

      Pretty cool.

Was playing a game in chase field, D backs vs SF Giants , hit a Hr with Brandon Belt Then I heard Matt say when the Giants in town it’s bye bye baby when going to the next half inning they had showed the replay of the Hr ..
long-time Giants fans know “Bye bye baby” as the Giants battle hymn going back to the ‘60s. It was based on Giants’ announcer Russ Hodge. Cool that Matt says it in the game after a hr so realistic..

Heidi was talking about the opposing team and the camera showed the guy on deck swinging the bat. In the background of the shot, you could see a crew person stick his head out and directly look into the camera, as if he just realized it was there. Was pretty funny.

Was playing a classic roster where Albert Pujols was still on the Cardinals, was at Cincinnati. While Albert was batting, some fan kept chanting "Albert, Albert". lol I don't know if this is done when he's on the Angels or not.

Played the Phillies last night in St.Louis and the crowd chanted "over-rated" when Bryce Harper came up to bat each time.

You mean they don't do that in every stadium, including Philly?

This little boy caught a HR barehanded with one hand in left field. The dad was impressed.

Also in the luxury seats behind the catcher there was this lady checking her phone for the first 2 innings. SMH.

And a stoppage of play for a beach ball in the OF LOL

I knew they did special things for different days like Mother’s Day but noticed yesterday they do something special for the 4th of July too! Each team had special hats and socks on.

There appears to be at least a slight rotation to Interleague schedules.
I saw a YouTube video of a Padres franchise in 2023 and they had a two-game series in April with the Angels, who they don't play in 2020. I'm guessing the Angels replaced the Mariners on San Diego's schedule (they have two two-game sets with Seattle in 2020) and the Padres continued to play the AL Central teams. But I don't know that for sure.
Has anyone simmed deep into a franchise 2030 or beyond to confirm Interleague schedules don't fully rotate?
It's a little thing, but I like variety of Interleague opponents, and if they do rotate I'd start a franchise where I'd play 4-5 games a season and sim the rest and go 15-20 years deep.
It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

"What? You can't challenge a scoring play?''

Playing with Bacon's roster last night.

A visiting player crushed his 300th career Homerun in the game. His teammates rushed out onto the field to congratulate him.

                          But wait, there's more....

He got a curtain call as the opposing crowd showed their respect for a tremendous player and achievement.

It was a very cool moment...one of those things that makes playing every game SO well worth it.
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

Playing my franchise AA game. 7th inn after I struck out the first batter in a 2-0 game I’m winning, Derosa mentions how the opposing team has looked so different than the night before, when they beat me 16-4. He says “they looked like the ‘27 Yankees 24 hours ago but hey that’s baseball” good announcing.

The playoff game atmosphere is great. Love the rally towels the fans have.

Had a walkoff HR in the 2nd game of the NLDS and the celebration was definitely different than the walkoff HR celebration in a regular game. That was a real nice touch to see.
