    Houston Astros Player Ratings

MLB The Show is expecting all these guys to continue dominating and did not consider how they will perform without cheating...

    Alex Bregman 97 overall
Jose Altuve 92 overall (Homebody - Performs Better at Home)
Yordan Alvarez 85 overall (Homebody - Performs Better at Home)
Yuli Gurriel 79 overall (Homebody - Performs Better at Home)
Carlos Correa 85 overall (Homebody - Performs Better at Home)

I don't like editing rosters... I want to play the game as is... but in this game they are still a favorite to win the World Series... Yikes

SDS just goes by stats and I think that's part of the problem with the scandal; you dont know what's real and what's for sale. whenever the season gets under way and there's enough data to justify updated ratings, we'll get them. for me personally, the cover-up was worse than the crime and I expect Houston to play well enough to win at least 85-90 games, if not more. like all things, time will tell

85-90 seems about right to me. They can pitch and are still a good team. I didn't see anyone but the Astros win the AL West in The Show 19 though. Looks like I can expect the same this year from these rosters.

Started my Jays franchise last night and edited all the 2017 Astros still in Houston. I lowered discipline and vision by 10 points each. I didn’t touch newer players. It lowered their overalls a couple points but nothing major. I should sim a month or two just to see how they perform. Maybe later tonight.

I was gonna edit Marisnik now on the Mets but his vision and discipline are already pretty bad.

I’m just mind blown how naquin has 99 arm strength. And I’m a Tribe fan. Lol

I bet they used his CF Held % of 50% against the league average of 44.3% in CF. if they had used his RF Held % of 46.3% versus the RF average of 46.8% they would have rated his arm strength more accurately IMO

Altuve is not a better player at home. In the two years the cheating was confirmed to have happened his stats were far more impressive on the road. That only helps the story of the players saying Jose was not involved.

No actually his numbers were much better at home... because he was cheating. And I don't think he is denying being part of it. He's sort of the face of the scandal.

not gonna defend Jose but in 2017 he hit .311 w/9 hr's at home. and on the road? .381 w/15 hr's. in 2018 - he hit .283 vs .349 on the road, and basically a wash in hr's. in 2019 he finally played better at home but the ch*mpi*nship came in 2017. maybe he was wired for road games

Astros did what they did and deserve what. they get. However, they claim to not have cheated last year and still put up great power numbers so ??

no matter what they claim now, they already trash-canned their credibility. if they tell me they the sky is blue & grass is green, I'm gonna go ahead and double check anyways. the funny thing is, I'd rather have Houston playing any way they want and everybody else trying to overcome than there to be no baseball

at least ‘‘the Show must go on!’’

I don’t know what numbers you are looking at. As another poster already put up his 2017 and 2018 numbers which are way better on the road. If you even look at his numbers for his entire career he is a .319 hitter on the road vs .310 at home. For his career he has far more hits, doubles, triples, and RBI’s on the road. The only stat where there is a clear advantage at home is HR’s. So please tell us where these far better home numbers are??

It's similar to roid boys. With few exceptions the Show uses a mathematical formula and they tend to stick with it instead of imposing a supposition on attributes.

If I was running MLB I would have little mercy on the cheaters but so long as MLB is fine with it then I accept what they did in the show. One thing I'm curious about is whether the Show removed the draft picks.

No, but they do pick last each round.
