7 Legends removed from The Show 20 who were in 19.

• Luis Tiant
• Rick Ankiel
• Shawn Green
• Steve Garvey
• Tommy John
• Travis Hafner

Green is the most noteworthy exclusion and was a Battle Royale Flawless reward last year. Huff, Ankiel, Hafner, and John seem to be one year wonders as legends. Huff isn't a surprise as he has made many controversial statements and wasn't even invited to the Giants 2010 Worlds Series reunion. Tiant wasn't included in Diamond Dynasty last year because he was a knuckleballer and Garvey only had 1 gold legend card.

How about Kerry Wood and Mark Prior? Are they back in 20?

Nobody is sure yet, however they some of those names do not appear to be on the offline roster ( with the legends teams and in free agency where they put in throwback/legend players ) also to answer the other question about Prior and Wood, they are both still in the game.

Yea it can be known from the offline legends rosters which tends to hold true. Some legends get removed each year. Probably lost their rights. Last year there were 13 removed like Yogi Berra.

When it comes to legends, it's not a simple matter of "they forgot to put so-and-so player in the game"

Since those players are no longer part of the player's association, the games needs permission (ie to pay) the player to be in the game. Some players say "sure... you can use me for five years at $500k per year" while another says "sure, you can use me for 3 years at $500k per year." Whatever the case, each player has an individual contract. So if, say, Ken Griffey Jr. was in the game last year but not this year, it is not an oversight or whatever. His contract probably expired and they did not work out an agreement.

That's all there really is to it.

Tiant wasn't included in Diamond Dynasty last year because he was a knuckleballer.

Pretty sure he threw one on some occasions, but he was much more than just a knuckleballer.

I understand that but cant speak for everyone in this thread. However the op simply was providing a list of Legends that were in last year and removed. I for one appreciated the information.

What happens if you did a carry over franchise with legends and the legend is no longer in 20? What does the game do with that missing legend? Say for example in 19 you had Shawn Green...you carry over the franchise to 20...does Shawn Green just disappear or is there a made up name or something?

The likeness and name will dissappear but everything else is there. There will be a generic face. Without the ability to import players into a franchise, that part sucks. I would recommend creating a new player to fill that void.
