Kudos to SDS. Motion and animations are butter smooth on balanced. It's a completely different game than last year. I'm shocked, in a good way. It's a 75% improvement conservatively, both in play and cut scenes.

It can't just be me noticing this? I mean WOW!
I'm on Pro obviously.

There was another post here earlier trashing the framerates.

Ive personally never had a problem with fps / lag.

This is a completely different game in how smooth it plays. I can't believe I'm the only one to notice how dramatic it is.

Are you all playing on PS4 Pro consoles? My framerate in MLB 20 is just as bad, if not worse than 19. I'm playing on a regular PS4.

im on regular ps4 w/ HDR. im an offline gamer. if you're playing online i'm not sure then.

I'm on a regular ps4. I've only had time for one game but I found it much better than 19. The defense was so much smoother and never saw that hitch or drop when the camera would transition to defense like I would always see in 19.

Ps4 Pro with 4K HDR TV here. Even tho I see Balanced plays lot smoother then ‘19 Show. Very playable now, I still prefer the ULTRA Smoothness of Faster resolution.

Copy paste from my impressions thread post - it's all I really have to say on this until I try other parks to see how the performance is in those. If there's one thing I've learned from this debate over the years it's that everyone sees different things even when looking at the same situations, so all I can do is put my observations out there.

Balanced video option runs great during live play on default cameras, can see the drop to 30 FPS in most off-play scenes. Faster holds 60 FPS in some off-play scenes (especially closeups) drops lower but not quite 30 in others. Didn't bother with Sharper. So in summary, I don't have any technical issues with the game thus far (at Wrigley), this was all expected.

Haven't had much time to play because of work.

But am on the PS4 PRO and on a 4K tv and have used the faster setting for years because in years past the frame rate was really bad at times.

But so far I am pretty impressed, playing March to October with the Mets and playing in Citi Field and Nationals Park ( which had choppy frame rates last year ) on opening day ( with the fans packing the stadium ) and in foggy/ rainy weather against the Nationals the game kept a pretty good frame rate and really didn't have any frame drops, and if it wasn't at 60FPS it was usually only during the start of the game and during the cut scenes or pre pitch animations.

The game plays pretty smooth and it's a lot better in terms of frame rate compared to last year.

However I do feel like they knocked pitch speed's down a lot which is kind of funny because with a better frame rate and reaction time they should have increased pitch speed.

I'm playing RTTS as of right now. Almost everytime the pitcher goes through his windup, the framerate drops and it really throws off the timing of my swing. Could just be my PS4 though I suppose.

Update: I freed up some space on the hard drive, and that seems to have helped. Not experiencing the slow down like I was before.

I'm glad developers are finally concerned about frame rates. I'd rather have a worse looking game running at 1080p smoothly then a great looking game running at 1440p+ with big framerate dips, especially when it comes to sports games where quick and precise reactions are key.

Can't wait for the next console gen where we finally ditch the 60 fps barrier, and if the show comes to PC? Man it's going to look glorious on my 120 hrz HDR TV.
